well finally got off my lazy butt and fixed 2 problems, 1 was an oil leak that needed a new gasket(found out there wasnt even one there to start with) and the other was to use JB weld to fix my radiator(temp till i get the money for a new one) have to wait till the JB weld sets up before I can see if ethier one was successful or not. So I wont know till tomorrow AM

I thought I was losing my mind, could not find my keys last night or all day today.
Kiddo said she had them, but that she put them back on the couch. Next thing you know, I caught her mumbling about play dough and the garbage... I made her say it again, and she said, "I used your keys to try and open my 'play' and it didn't work so they're garbage."

Uhh, yea.

So I got to dig through all of our leftovers I tossed (cleaned fridge out this a.m.) and then remembered (After digging through a bunch of GROSS GROSS stuff) I took the trash out last night and put in a new bag - so ran out and dug through one that sat out in the heat all day - and found them...

And on a different note, I almost lost one of my baby pygmies today. I went to feed and water them and one was missing. Long story short, it had climbed out of the top of the container because the "door" wasn't all the way shut. It had climbed up onto a hot water bottle that was sitting on top of my fish tank (where their container is kept) and I didn't notice it because it's so darn tiny. There was also a kitchen towel up there and I had taken that down before I knew it was gone, and thinking back, if the wee little thing had been on that towel, it probably would have fallen on the floor when I pulled it down, and I might have walked on it, or the dogs gotten it. But as it is, I did find it and had to chuckle at the thought of something that small going AWOL and making it so far!
I'm glad I found it though and the door is completely secure now.

Invest in some lifting straps They are a god send! Research "forearm forklift" and see if you can get a couple sets in your area. We used those to move my 500 gal plus some other accessories

the only windows we have to our flat are attic windows and the tank wont fit through -

I assume the turning radius on the step landing won't allow for a tank that size

i wish - but if we move - which may be on the cards sometime next year or so then it would have to stay in the flat.

On a brighter note - i found a great deal on some potted plants for my tanks - the store had some new stock in so were clearing off the old stock at £1 per plant -
well i couldnt help myself and came away with 14 plants and some pink ramshorn snails.

Now if i were to buy the plants at normal price they would be £3 each or 4 for £11 so i would have had to pay

£39 plus the snails -- what a bargain hey.

However - still no buyer for the tank yet - lots of people right accross the other side of the country interested but no takers yet. doh!

I am devastated because I found one of my most favourite puffers dead a little while ago -- my salivator puffer. I had just commented on another member's post (they had just gotten a salivator) about how fond I am of my salivator. I don't think he's been well for a few days because he's been up towards the top of the tank and normally he's a bottom dweller. He was fairly dark earlier and I thought he was dead then, but he swam off and I thought maybe he had been sleeping. But then later, no mistaking, he was very dead and very puffed up. I honestly don't know why he died, but I've had him a long time and I am heart-broken. It's not easy to find those puffers either, so it's not even likely that I can replace him.

What a bummer!

That's a shame I'd love to have a salivator male.

Today we're picking up our new larger tank. In the near future we'll be getting 3 altum angels which is very exciting. They're gorgeous in pictures. Looks like in the near future we'll be doing up a brand new tank and then selling our old one.

Wooohooo. New tank is now sold. Delivered it to a bloke some 50 miles away. What a mission that was.
