I found out the hard way before too, not with a puffer, but it was still very sad.

very sorry about your loss, i think a toby puffer would be so cool to have

At least you have a beautiful tank to continue with the hobby, now you just need to find a fish that will make you happy, or maybe a reef tank (that is what my next tank is going to be)

I'm more interested in getting a puffer that will grow and get a good size. Probably going to go with the black dogface, the one that's white with black spots and some yellow. Should I try to order through a LFS, or going thru a reputable online site??

Thanks, I was real happy with the tank and the way it came out. Sadley, it will be sold and hopefully to someone as stoked on it as I am.

I think I'm going to keep him, he's pretty rad. He keeps the LR free of pests and will get along with the DF.

I'm very interested in dogface puffers, so it will be cool to see a member with one. Doesn't seem like a whole lot of members own them.

I am very sorry for your loss.

Thanks again for the kind words everyone, it helps to have you guys know how I feel. I called around my LFS's to see what was available. Had it narrowed down to a baby dogface, or a baby stars and stripes. Went to check both out, both are happy and eating in the tanks they are in at TONGS, but need to be moved to something bigger. I have decided to go with the stars and stripes puffer! My girlfriend likes him much better than the dogface, the dog face kinda looks like a zombie puff LOL. Im setting up the 30 gal QT tank today and picking him up today. Price tag is less than 26 bucks!!!!!!!!

haha thats right!!! I assume a 135 gallon would be ok right?? everywhere says that 100+ gallons will be good for him. The plan is to: set him up in the 30gal QT for a week, transfer him to my 80gal while I shop for a larger tank...
