Beef Jerky or 'Pemmican' is something I like. I think there is somewhere in Scotland that makes it. But just once or twice a year is enough for me. That's probably my salt allowance for the year. It's nearly as good as a donner kebab in Newcastle, uk

Yeah I know, when I lived in Manchester we'd go to the Trafford Centre and I'd buy some American stuff, but the prices are outrageous compared with what you'd pay in America for the same thing. As long as my friend doesn't mind sending me stuff, I will happily accept it. I got up this morning and can't believe all the goodies that are in my kitchen!Tigerlilly wrote:Ppg.. Selfridges in the UK sell quite a lot of American foods if you're interested.. I know they have marshmellow fluff and lucky charms and other cereals and boxes and jars of things (forgot the names).

I went out today and bought some new guppies to put new blood into my tank. Even though they are only feeder fish, I still don't like seeing them inbreeding like they are.

I know you may not have the heart for it, but the deformed ones could be fed to your piscaviore puffer

Actually J-P that's what all my guppies are for .... the only thing is that the ones with the bent spine are rather large, and the puffer can't eat them all at once, and what happens is he ends up biting out a section instead of killing it in one go. I don't like to see anything suffer, even feeder fish, so I am reticent to put a bigger fish in there only to have my piscivore not kill it the first time and it end up suffering.
I hope that makes sense.

Re: What happened to you today :)
I woke up at the crack of early (after working late last night) and we went to the zoo! Spent all day there, until I HAD to leave to make it to work on time. Just got off work at midnight - YEY! so stinkin tired. My sis dropped off my mail (the odds and ends that still go to my parents' house) and I see I got a notice from the bank - overdraft!
So, I have this account set up for ONE thing - my insurance payment (only way they take payment is auto debit)... I see that came out (95 bucks) but there is an additional 59.99, and another 8... I did not authorize this - and they are closed.... Have to wake up early and find out WTH is going on.
OH and at some point during the day - my cell phone worked up a nice surprise for me. I can text, but can't call, cuz the mic is broke?? I call people, I hear them but they don't hear me. I've tested it several times... Piece of junk! What a day!
2 days till TANK DAY! (day 3!)

Re: What happened to you today :)
I got up at the crack buttocks of dawn, hell even before that. To take my son to preschool and so i could get to work, Im working dayshift this week so i can spend the week with him. But of course my car is still screwing up and wouldnt start when i got off work. So I had to walk to get a new battery. And now Im going to wait till tomorrow to pick him up to make sure my car still runs correctly. So far im really starting to dislike this ride

Re: What happened to you today :)
(Sorry you're having so much trouble with this car xrayjeeper)
I went and got myself a new mystery puffer (actually I think I have an idea what it is). I also finally got some micro crickets for my baby pygmy chameleons, so now I don't have to worry about them not having food. I was starting to stress about that. They are so cute and very active too.
But sadly my Kenyan pygmy male, Jerome, he died this morning so that was not very good. I don't believe he was eating since I got him (had him just less than 2 weeks) and he was so frail and skinny. Poor little chap.

Re: What happened to you today :)
We got back from the cottage today. We left early in the day and hit 5 fish stores on the way home
We picked up a few fake corals and since I'm probably not working tomorrow I'm going to spend the day setting up the F8 tank and maybe do some water changes.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Re: What happened to you today :)
Another crack of early day today! Got up early to sort out some bank stuffs- got that squared away and my dad came over.... We went to splash in the lake for a bit, play on the beach, then to go see my mom at work. My daughter wanted to have a 'picnic' so we were going to go out to get something to eat... this turned into a stop at Chuck E. Cheese's for pizza and some games (we got lost there for almost 4 hours)... We swooped down by Broadway Aquatics while we were in that town - however turns out they've closed at some point.
No LFS browsing for me today! Had to come home, throw together dinner and run out the door (before I even got to eat any...)
However, I got to have some Nacho Wedges from work (YUM) and now - home, gettin ready for bed. Long day at work tomorrow, then TANK DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woke up at 1pm, done paper round, rummaged through the garage to find my old fish ornaments and plants and now back on the computer. Strangely that took 5 hours! lol
