On a different note --
Today I went out and bought a baby Yemen (Veiled) chameleon. He's about the same size as my pygmy chams, but he's only 2-3 months old. I've never owned one of the bigger species of chameleon, so this is a first. I thought I was doing so well with the pygmy chams that I would go bigger.
Thing is, I'm a little worried about him. He's been "sleeping" since I brought him home about 4 hours ago. I know he's still alive, but I am not certain how active he should be. I know that baby animals do sleep alot and for long periods .... but I guess I'm just feeling a bit paranoid because this little guy cost twice as much as one of the pygmy chameleons, and appears so fragile. I put some crickets in his vivarium, but he's not paid them any attention at all. Maybe he needs time to adjust to the new surroundings, because at the shop he was in a viv with lots of other babies.
I will get some photos of him when I know he's alright. I don't want to bother him too much tonight, but I also don't want to assume that everything is okay and then find him dead in the morning. I've emailed the shop, although they won't be back in until tomorrow. Hopefully it's just me worrying too much, at least I hope so.

I saw that movie! I saw it not too long before I went in for my surgery too

I am highly resistant to all drugs and I was out in like half a second (from caffiene and alcohol to narcotics to other highly addictive or potent medications). If they can knock me out they can knock you out It's a really scary thought but seriously, don't worry. I was so scared that that would happen to me because nothing works for me but it was perfectly fine.

These drugs are tried and true, it won't happen to you.

Other than that I would be so excited to take my little mutant baby home in a specimen jar. I'm weird like that though I'd be showing everyone and they'd hate me for putting them through that

I would SO quickly pull it out at the dinner table too. Or I'd ask if they wanted to meet my new friend Elizabeth If you warn people they wouldn't want to look at it and that's just silly cause it'd be really cool Sometimes they just don't know what's best for them and I do That or the sadistic pleasure that I'd gain from doing it would outweigh all negative outcomes

Today I took pictures of the tank and worked on a plant list. I emailed it all to a friend/acquaintance (not sure where to draw that line) and she's going to put it all together and aquascape our tank for us. She'll draw up all the plans which is excellent because we really suck at it

This day in age, you may not have a ton of scarring to worry about. My bother in law had her gall bladder removed - they actually left one little scar up on her side, and the other in her belly button. Not that it's the ideal place you want them 'messing with' but they pulled the gall bladder out through the belly button... so no big ugly scars. The little scar on the side was where they went in from to help remove the gall bladder.

A girl at work had some 'work' done on her ovaries, (not sure exactly all that was done) but they went through her belly button as well as two tiny incisions...

As for your dad acting like you are going to die - my daughter is only three, and to even imagine her going through an ounce of pain, hardship, or anything to place her in the hospital is enough to make me feel like I'm going nuts. I'm sure your dad is just being Daddy, and I'm sure he loves you very much. I'm also sure that you probably won't be that alone in the hospital, won't your parents be there with you? I'm sure you could ask your dad to come sit with you? I think my dad would assume I wouldn't want him there... being an adult and all... but I know how my dad is, too. I'd definitely ask him to be there with me, after all - I'm a daddy's girl, and there's nothing wrong with needing daddy!

I'm getting excited. I'll be working with my boss which has a 120 gallon tank for sale. Hopefully we can work a deal out, and he'll take payments. If that's the case, I'll have my puffer's tank in no time!

Bought a 40g breeder and 29g reef ready tank, went to the steinheart aquarium in SF which was AMAZING! then came home and cut my thumb nail open and very deep with a bread knife while drunkenly trying to cut some really hard aged salami. That was yesterday but today my thumb really freaking hurts and now I have 8 tanks in my house, only two of wich have fish in them. I cant wait to setup the tanks when I am done flooring my house.

I got a vivarium for my new little veiled chameleon (I will be posting pics as soon as he settles in more). I had him in a converted aquarium, which isn't suitable, not tall enough .... but I found the perfect viv for £30, so he's in a nice big one now. He's so tiny, so fragile. He's even more fragile than my pygmy chams. He's not eaten since I've had him and that's worrying me. Hopefully this is just him getting acclimated to his new surroundings.

I was doing a water change on my Ceylon tank, and then went upstairs to check on the chameleon and got distracted. When I came down, I had flooded the room! Probably about 10-15 gallons of water on the floor, maybe more. Thankfully I caught it before it got too bad, although it was bad enough, trust me. Good thing that most of my electric extensions are sitting up off the floor. I know one day I'm going to electrocute myself, or the dogs, or both. I think I've flooded the floor about 4 times (although not always in the same room), but one of those wasn't my fault (a hose came loose from an old filter). So now the carpet is going to smell horrible for a few days. At least it's very warm over here right now, so that should help dry out the carpet quicker than usual.
