Update
Not so the good father now. Last night some of the good eggs disappeared. i decided to remove the slate to the fry tank.That was difficult. he was very aggressive towards me obviously. I left a few eggs that had been scattered into the plants and wood in the tank.The male spent all night looking for the eggs.
This morning he is still scanning the area for thr eggs I removed. A couple of the eggs I had left behind have vanished as well.
The others in the fry tank look fine so far.

Proves the 3 second memory 'theory' is incorrect if nothing else
I guess it'll be trial and error for a while. What's the betting they are soon at it again now the eggs are out?

Well here I go again. The eggs now on day 7 are starting to hatch I have woken to find at least one fry.

Three have settled on the 'sucker'. The rest of the egss are on the slate. There are four swimming at the moment.
