My puffers love the frozen bloodworms, I also feed them the freeze dried bloodworms but I think they are harder to eat since they are hard. My dwarf puffer has to wait till the freeze dried ones get soft to eat them.

So, an update: I saw her eat!! She ate a couple fdbw (freeze dried blood worms ) and then had a pretty bulgy stomach! I'm so happy she's eating. I'm afraid that if I feed her real worms, then she won't eat the fd stuff anymore. So I'm just going to leave it at fd stuff and snails if I could ever find any!!! Thanks for all the tips and help. I'll definitely keep you guys updated with pics and such.

Quick update: haven't been here in a while. Weebo seems to be healthy...eating her bloodworms and her ocassional ramshorn snail treat from the bigger tank. Sometime this week I'm installing some bubbles into her tank along with the 20g. I'll keep updating with pics. I hope it turns out ok.

I love DPs. I have 3 in a 10 gallon tank and they are so entertaining and so cute! I'm glad your little one is doing well!!

glad weebo is ok an all is going well, nice set up cant wait to get mine going. went to my lfs and they won't give or sell me any sails but said if i bought plants she would get me some she got me 3 and they had loads an wow lol any way. weebo looks so cute keep updating

Updates:
I removed all the plants because the lighting wasn't supporting them properly, so I've got two fake plants in there. But this is all temporary because WEEBO IS GETTTING A NEW HOME!!!
I'm not getting rid of her or anything, but my betta died last week so I have an empty tank. It's the 6.6g that I might take with me to college next year. She's going to get a huge castle from the 20g with bubbles and everything, new gravel, hopefully live plants and a couple oto buddies. I hope I get that all done before Christmas. I'll keep updating.

great topic for DP info! I am going to get a couple of them, before new year I hope... So now I'm trying to get as much information on them as I can!

Wow, so much has happened since I last posted!
First off, I got the 55g set up that now contains cories, otos, and danios.
My fish were so happy that they started spawning again!

I HAVE OTO FRY!!!

So I needed a place to put them...I moved Weebo into the 55g from the 6.6g with a divider of course that I made myself.
My plan is to move Weebo back into the 6.6g after the fry are out of there...but that can always change!
For some reason all my pictures are over "800 pixels wide" so I have to resize them all......but I don't have time right now, I'll be back with pics later.

Well, it's the new year and I haven't been here for in forever! I'm sorry. I probably won't be around much in the future because I'm trying to finish up my last semester of high school!

So, here's the pic I promised, hope it works. I didn't follow through with the otos because they all died. There's still a couple in the 55g living by themselves so I hope they survive.

I just wanted to add that initially I started out with 1 Dwarf puffer, then I thought it should have a mate, so I got another, but it turned out to be a male, so I had to get yet another. When I first got them I thought they would hurt each other because they were really nippy and just seemed a bit nasty, but now I have all my Dwarf Puffers together, and since the tank I had my Dwarfs in originally went bad, I had to move them and I didn't have anywhere else to put them than in with my South American Puffers -- now i know what everyone is thinking at this point -- but believe me, they are all getting along together really great. When I recently added the last 2 (making a total of 6 Dwarf Puffers) they were a bit nasty towards the other Dwarfs, as well as going for the SAP's, but now they are all living together and there's no sign at all of any aggression or nastiness. I sit and watch them for a long time and I have not seen anything that would make me feel badly for putting the Dwarfs in with the SAP's. I also happen to have 2 different Plecos in there too, and none of the Puffers bother them.
I also want to say that when the Dwarf Puffers were in the other tank by themselves, I had cherry shrimp in with them and the Puffers never went for the shrimp -- not at all! In fact, the shrimp would sometimes sit on the back of the Puffer. And I'd watch as the shrimp would swim by directly in front of the Puffer and never once did I see any of the Dwarfs do anything aggressive towards the shrimp. Now having said that, I had shrimp in the SAP tank and I have not seen any shrimp lately, so I'm wondering if the SAP's didn't decide to eat their little shrimp friends. All in all, other than snails and the occasional shrimp, all my Puffers seem very social and are doing very well together. They are doing so well that the tank the Dwarf Puffers used to be in is now slated to be a tank for the Arrowhead I'm hoping to get for my birthday.
I just thought I'd add that little bit of info because it seems that, even though Dwarf Puffers seem nasty and are a little at first, I think once they are faced with being with other fish, whether their own kind, other Puffers and sometimes other fish, they calm down and learn to live with those others. I also think it helps to have a heavily planted tank, which I have got.
I do think that you get some sort of Puffer sickness when you get that first Puffer, and you want more and then you want other kinds and next thing you know, you're buying more tanks so you can have more Puffers! But you also get alot of satisfaction from having them, and they certainly do make me smile and most times make me burst out laughing!!
