At this point, this is the best I've found. The only downside is that it doesn't have a stand, but I have a dresser I could put it on to start with.

What kind of legs does the dresser have? Is it large enough to support the entire length of the tank?

Yes, you can upgrade the BW system to marine, over time, that's how I did it.

You could keep 4-5 F8s in there or make it a lovely F8 BW community tank, with gobies, chromides, mollies, glassfish & some others, IF those puffers are nice! With that, I'd only keep 3 F8s in there.

1 GSP would be very happy in a well-decorated 55g.

It looks like with everything included, all I should need is Salt, a Refractometer, the puffer (still undecided on several F8s or 1 GSP lol) and maybe additional decorations. Of course, I'll need to look at a stand at some point, but I have a solid dresser that should be able to hold the tank (I assume).


Does this sound/look correct?

So I talked to the Person selling the tank, and worked out so that I could stop by to take a look. All in all, everything looks in great condition.

They took the tank down in the spring due to remodeling of the house. The fish got relocated to a relative's house and are doing fine. It was originally used as a FreshWater tank and there were no diseases.

Here are some pictures of what I'm looking to get.

If anything looks bad/missing/out of place/etc please let me know.

From what I can tell, there are no cracks and the sealant looks good too.

Wow you are right, that does look very clean ^.^ haha sorry for being such a worry wort, but that is what I am-- a worry wort, and I check, double and triple check everything and I am really weird about buying used stuff. It took my bf a long time (the members here too, but they didn't know it lmao) to be brave enough to buy a tank online. Again, I probably worry about way too much, but in my OCD little mind, it's better to be safe than sorry, especially when dealing with CL. At least you have a great find! My tank didn't look nearly as good haha. =) Congrats btw!

Haven't bought it yet though.

The one thing I still don't know is what else I'll need besides what is there. I am completely unfamiliar with the Canister System but I've read a little bit. Some of what I read said I'm suppose to put other things in there. Does this depend on if I do F8 or GSP? Any tutorial, links, etc would be very helpful .

No, that is the evil Magnum 350. Most cumbersome canister filter ever. It's a micro filter water polisher, the filter needs to be bleached every week, so you need 2-3 of them to swap out. If you get this, go online and buy the media basket for it, and the blue poly "wraps". Each month you will need to clean the entire unit, hoses, impeller, so on.
I really hate that filter. It started leaking after 6 months, but I bought it used. The metal clamps got too worn/bent and it doesn't have a water tight seal anymore.

They ten to like a lot of swimming space, so you would probably be better off getting a long tank instead of a cube.

Ok, so this is probably more than I'd like to spend, but it looks like a descent deal considering everything is included. My thought would be this could be for a single GSP or F8. Thoughts?

The square design is not ideal for a puffer. You wanna aim for length.
