Of course this is a "belief systems" argument and that is not surmounted easily, even in our own language; never-mind breaking a language barrier. I don't want to change anyone's belief system, but I hope that others would understand where mine stem from and either share them, or dismiss them. It is fine.
You would choose to spend time with your family because that is what is currently lacking at the moment. That is a very valid point. I know people who what to earn more "money" because they want to watch more television. That is something they enjoy and can't do because of the day to day trivialities. They just don't have enough time, money or resources. That is a trivial thing we take for granted.

Possibly, there in lies a fundamental flaw. The guy who stock the shelves at a grocery store day in and day out, is working less than say a movie star? Or a doctor? I recently read that an elite athlete gets paid the way they do because of the face that "we" love them. We love to watch them and as a collective result that athlete gets paid a premium (of course we can't omit the owners). So?
I LOVE my showers... I think my utility company is gouging me enough but not anywhere near NFL athletes are getting paid. What about your job... if no one were to do it.. I could live without NFL... what about electricity? We seem to have the entertainment vs. necessities salaries backwards. JHFC!!! We are paying the people that sustain our lives and teach us the most, the absolute LEAST. And for some reason that has become an acceptable norm.
I like to believe that everyone has something to contribute. We are all integral blocks in a society and each should be valued. No one is "worth" more than another, unless someone "chooses" to be unproductive. That is a very RARE minority. I also feel that no one should be limited to what they should be able to accomplish because of race, monetary status, sex, birth place or age. I believe that if you eliminate the monetary portion of the equation, you will have more productive members of society who are willing to "go the distance".
I would love to study molecular biology... but I can't. I can't pay. There is another person out that that would love to study jet propulsion engines. They can't because because they lack the funds. The list goes on and on... as does the travesty of the "who you know and not what you know"...

On an ending to this post... I hate throwing out food. Working in a grocery store we throw out about 5% weekly. Working previously in fast food.. we throw out about 1% daily. If we are above that we "don't know our market" and if below that "we are serving sub par product". That is all B.S. Compound that with the amount of waste we produce at the distribution level and at the home level and you can see our lifestyle is not sustainable. Eliminate the waste, streamline production, reduce costs. The opposite is true in this economy which is buy, buy, buy (waste, waste, waste).
