thats a nice looking start to the tank!
idk if this has been said already but make sure you have a ton of complex line of sight breakage since you will be having two gsp and they are territorial so you will want to make sure each puffer feels like they have their space. Also try to get two really young ones so you can introduce them early.

Thanks! I was amped when I found them. It's just a standard Aqua Rays Fresh and Saltwater 40w florescent F40T12-Ar-Fs.

Thank you man, I'm aware I have to add plants and other decorations. I have chosen to go with a single GSP, who is now in his own 30gal. I'm going to add about 3 or 4 more hermit crabs to the two I already have as the cleaning crew for as long as they can stay alive. I'm excited to see how fast he grows in this full marine set-up. I'm going to start an attempt at breeding SW shrimp, and snails for the puff as well.

Some GSP's don't seem to grow too fast, some of them, even in identical conditions don't grow to be very large either. Scientists haven't really done any work in defining any sub-species, but they do seem to have a lot of differences, so it's suspected.

But since you are excited, let's hope he does get to be 7" then!

There has already been significant growth since I first got him in July. So hopefully he keeps on going! He is swimming from one side of the tank to the other instead of going up and down the glass. I think he's ready for the switch, just gotta wait for that effin ammonia level to drop!

Thank PP, I've been finding a lot of hitchhikers on the rock lately. Today I found this guy lurkin in the back, hidden behind the rock. What is it, Aiptasia? It's not clear like the ones online look. What should I do?

It looks like it, although I can't see how tall or thick the stalk is.

My GSP ate my hitchhiking mantis shrimp lol.

Well if it it the Aiptasia, would it be smart to get the kleins butterfly? Or maybe a big hermit before I put my puff in?

Well I found another AMAZING deal on some LR that I couldn't pass up! I got 70LBS of fully cured rock only 2 days out of an established tank for $1.25 p/LB.
It went right into the tank that night (2 nights ago). I have 100LBS on the dot of LR, just need to add some plants for broken line of sight.







I wanna keep the Kleins butterfly in there for pest removal from the LR. Will that be a problem with my GSP?

I'm also having problems with SG fluctuation. I am aiming to have the SG at 1.023-24. Last time I checked the SG when there was evidence of evaporation and the SG was at 1.027! I got this salt creep spray from coralife, could that be the cause for the raise in SG since it's not letting the salt evap. on the glass tops?

Hey, make sure your rock isn't leaning on the glass sides, could cause a leak over time.
Your GSP could be fine with the butterfly, but keep an eye out, he may murder in the night...

Haha, none of the rocks are supported by the glass, at most they are just touching it, but not being supported by the glass.

Well yesterday was the day, I moved Puffy from his 30 to his 80gal! The transfer was a total success, he hasn't stopped swimming against the flow! He hasn't sat on the bottom at all, and is very eager to eat still. I'm very surprised at how smooth the re-home went. To get him out of his 30gal, i held a piece of shrimp at the top of the tank and scooped him with a big plastic bowl.. He didn't even notice!
