By the honeycomb toby do you mean Canthigaster janthinoptera? In that case, that is a different fish; the Fiji Orangetail is the name given to Canthigaster Solandri's caught off of Fiji, as their coloration is slightly different than Solandri's caught from Indonesia. My tank isn't set up for corals so I don't have any, but I would assume that Camille would tear them to pieces since most tobies pick at corals. All I have right now is some live rock that isn't really growing too much; I've been using RO water for the tank and the aquarium water is too pristine. I'm slowly adding nutrients and have started using a different salt that contains natural elements, especially calcium and magnesium.

Yes, he has a janthinoptera...they look so much alike! I tried a zoa last night and by this morning she nipped all the heads off...so there's my answer...lol! She had a nice $20 dinner! Looks like it's just gonna be her, the Goby and what ever lives on the LR that is able to avoid being eaten!

I buy it in the reptile section in Petsmart. I also get the airline tubing suction cups from there to attach it to the glass.

I didn't know if those would work with aquariums, so I never bothered to look at them. I'll have to go look at petsmart then, thanks!

@ hadla, if they can use it for sensitive frog species, it's probably OK in the tank. That's what I figured when I got the reptile plants Srkoe and I have. Not that we shouldn't be careful when choosing decor, but frogs/chameleons are really sensitive

yeah thats what i figured, almost all reptiles are sensitive animals, so i guess i can use anything meant for their tanks for mine too as long as i rinse it really well first.

Thanks guys! I can't wait to get Wally in there! It is my favorite tank right now, it's ashame it's in my room...that's okay though, it's next to my bed I stare at it every night before I go to sleep and admire it...I'm a nerd. All my other tanks have black backgrounds, this is my first with blue, I really like it. I love the plants on the back. I have them in my dp tank as well. All the dp's sleep in them at night. I want some for Ares' tank as well but the algae is winning the battle in his tank and I don't want to have anything else to scrub in there. I too am having a heck of a time with hair algae in my f8 tank...that stuff is a pain to remove and the shrimp won't touch it!

I am currently on the search for another larger tank for Marty. I want to get him out of the 20 gallon asap!

What do you do to battle the hair algae in your tank? Not only does mine grow on the glass but on the substrate, which is really making me want to go to sand, since it wont grow on that. But my tank looks awful because of it. Too green, and its making me want to remove the planted/treetrunk type background on my tank and go with something more blue... Although Ive noticed since the mollies went in the tank they eat a lot of the algae. But even they cant keep up! Looks nice on my log though (the weird clear-white snot stuff stopped growing on it, after the mollies partly ate it off).

Mine only grows on one of the fake plants, it's weird. I remove it manually . I have the snot stuff on a piece of wood too. I want to take the wood out but gizzy sleeps under it every night.

Hmm that makes me wonder if maybe the circulation in the tank is blowing the stuff off your wood onto the other decor in the tank. My fiance read somewhere that the snot stuff is actually partly a fungus and partly sugar extracted from the sap in the wood. This MAY be your cause. I can only suggest, if thats the case, to scrub the wood off with just a plain sponge or cloth and water, and keep doing this until it goes away. Unless you would prefer to try to clean it in the tank, but Ive noticed that the stuff breaks up really easily and turns into tiny scraps of... snot... that are impossible to catch unless you can get them to the filter tube. But keep wiping it out, you dont want your fish to eat it. I think it might have been the cause of death of one of my baby mollies. They were all trying to eat that stuff... it was really disgusting. I hope you get it under control because I know how awful looking it is .

Marty got moved into his very own tank tonight! He's only staying on one side though...he won't go explore . He's always been my skittish one though. I feel so bad for separating them...I know it's for the best though

well, i took every fake plant and piece of wood out of my 20g and scrubbed it off and it has yet to grow back... *knocks on wood*

just take it out during the day and scrub off any spots you see then put it back

also, hair algae seems to grow only on one of my fake plants, its weird!

Wally and Marty are doing great! Such "lovable" little guys! Healthy as can be in their own tanks. Eating well and no signs of ip's! I just knew for sure that Wally wouldn't make it this long but he has proven me wrong. So happy that I could save these guys!

On a bad note my walmart has got their new tanks up and running and threw fish in them right away...I'm sure they were not cycled. The gsp's they have look worse than ever...completely black. The new tanks are much smaller and they are keeping the gsp's housed with parrot ciclids. I wish there was something I could do...but don't we all

yeah too bad fish arent included with animal abuse laws. they definately get abused. glad your gsps are doing fine!
