So, I've been watching her weight closely and I haven't fed her in about 2 days. Her belly wasn't going down and I was beginning to worry about constipation. Today I checked her and her belly was huge.

Little miss fatty has figured out how to kill shrimp. I found half a dead one on the sand.

So far she's quite personable. Spooks at new things but isn't too bad about it. I caught her sleeping the one morning and she was sleeping out in the open in the front corner. It was very cute. She's also slow to wake up. Not as bad as the irrubescos (they take at least a half hour) but it took her a few minutes.

She's absolutely adorable.

Well, I took some more photos of Feight yesterday. *****56K warning!!!!***** The glass on the inside of the tank is in dire need of cleaning but I am unsure of how to do it because it is a bowfront and also it is most likely sand. Hmm... :?

You can see just how adept she has become and catching/killing/eating the shrimp. I'm pretty sure she has practically decimated the population.

Gee, glad to see you didn't go overboard with the pictures... :flush:

Needless to say this girl is not camera shy :ROFL2: She has her shy moments but is normally pretty bold. She was biting my finger nails today

#16 is my fav!! That face is priceless. She looks awestruck, and it looks like she is in outer space. Same with #17.

I thought I'd update this. Feight has been growing slowly and I think her total length is now over an inch. She's still as bold as ever and has some funny habits. I've been thinking about training her to go into a net. She has so little fear and it would be a good habit if she'd swim in it herself ;) Like always, she bites everything that goes in her tank and has no fear of the tongs or pliers, she'll swim right through them or I can open them so she goes through the opening.

She still gobbles up all the frozen food and just loves our home made food which is great. I think it's her favourite whereas most of the other fish prefer bloodworms as their favourite. She gets fed from the tongs unless she gets snails and she gets those straight from the pliers. It's funny though as she always bites the tongs before she'll eat from them. Bites the tongs once then eats the food. Every. Single. Time. No idea why she does it. Like most puffers she hates red, won't even eat if I'm wearing it. Pink isn't as bad but still makes her nervous. On the other hand she loves brown and green

Another funny habit of hers is jumping out of the water when we walk by the tank. She won't do it if you walk to the tank but if you walk past it you can hear her jump out. Some times she jumps out for food as she can't wait until it's in the water  Other than those two scenarios we've never heard her jump out. Most of her day is spent hunting, she never stops.

Depending on what happens this summer we're going to move her into a 20gal long. She doesn't need it now but we know she'll need it in the future. The 16gal is too small for a 3" version of her.

Feight passed away.

She was fine on Thursday and we went away for a few days. We got back on Sunday night and she was gone. We're both quite upset as she was by far our favourite fish. None of the others even came close to matching her attitude and personality. We won't be getting another F8 in the near future as we can't imagine another fish being as special as she was. Our best guess was that the heater malfunctioned and killed her (her water was too warm and we had the same type of heater try to kill the irrubescos, we were home to save them though)(the irrubesco one was tossed and this one will be too). She's been so healthy for almost a year, not a single thing wrong with her.

We miss her a lot. The tank is so empty without her. The apartment is empty without her.
