It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Just wondering, when will my tank be fully cycled? I did the water tests and there are no spikes in the ammonia or nitrites, but there are a bit of nitrates showing up on the liquid test. The shrimp was in there for 5 days, and man it was stinky 
So should I wait a few more days and then test and see what shows up in another few days. I will keep feeding the tank fish flakes though.
