I have a Monster air-freshener in my car >.>
I LOVE the smell of it. I think I only buy Monster so I can sit around smelling it. Haha. (yeah, I know I'm awesome)

as long as we're talking about pick-me-up beverages i just have to give a shout out to my lifesaver starbucks. i know these are loaded words and will most likely inspire hatred en masse, BUT i can't help my addictions! starbucks coffee and puffer fish tank accessories are my current most expensive weaknesses, what can you do? ....except buy? :-)

1) Get a good quality stovetop percolator, which includes a basket with a top and a glass globe.
2) Gind the beans yourself extra coarse in a mill type grinder. NO BLADES! They generate chunks or dust, or chunks with dust. You can't get even grain size using a bladed one, so there is always dust in your coffee, dust = +bitterness. Proper coffee is a dark brown with a deep crimson undertone, and never has cloudiness to it.
3) Use two paper filters, not one.
4) Fill the pot low enough that the water will not touch the beans when its boiling, even if this is below the highest #of cups marker line on the pot.
5) Bring it to a boil slowly, so it doesn't boil really heavily and dump grinds into your coffee as it comes to a boil. You want the pot to just barely be percolating, rather than doing so vigorously.
6) Percolate for 7-8 minutes, then remove from heat and let stand another 7-8 minutes for all coffee to drain from the grinds in the basket.
7) Get so used to really rich strong coffee with incredible smoothness, and be repulsed by starbucks forevermore.

lol. well i guess there is another option!
although i will note it is far more complicated (albeit far less expensive) than the swipe of a credit card! their nasty recently promoted honey-based beverages (coffee+honey??? why?!?) are rather repulsive, but they even add a little vanilla to the whipped cream for improved taste (i asked the secret) and will give you the whipped cream plus caramel sauce for free if you ask nicely!

There is ONE way to take coffee with honey that is acceptable, and interestingly enough, it's also the only time dust is allowed to be in coffee: TURKISH coffee. You use a mill rather like a peppermill, only filled with coffee beans(dark roast) and a few cardimon seeds, remove the pods but save them. After grinding to dust, you add a couple tablespoons to a tiny little pot, along with a big dollop of honey. Then you slowly bring it to a boil over a very low flame, removing it as soon as it begins frothing up. After it settles, return to heat, it will fairly quickly froth up again, again remove from the heat. Do the same thing once or twice more, but not more than that. Serve in a TINY cup, dropping a cardimon pod in each cup, and add 4 or so drops of rose water.
