haha 10 ft panes are actually 1.5" as well as the bottom panel which will have reinforcement braces every 8". Still debating have been ponding over the MBU but i dont feel like these fish should be kept in captivity even in a 1500g tank. Which is why im leaning towards possibly establishing another ~850g below / above the current L shaped 1500g and keep the puffers in there for BW and have 1500g SW, although i've been trying to design an actual FW to SW tank but any way i divide it i have too much water transfer between the two, if any one has any suggestions for this i would love to have a tri-tank set up with both FW, SW and a BW point where the two meet.bertie 83 wrote:It sounds like it's in wall so should be for most. it is and technically passes with the 3.8 safeness standard although i'd like to not even have nightmares about it so i went .5" thicker and 1.5" for both 10' panes and had the L shape cut at the same place i bought the glass, had to custom order it 2 weeks prior custom made!!! haha i felt special! the rest will be 1" as it was almost 3x the price for 1.5". Regardless have only spent 150$ so far for this custom set up and its included all brazilian cherry hardwood, which if any one doesnt know is rather EXPENSIVE found 4'x8'x4" 4 of these for 50$ i've been collecting for this project for over 8 months now. saw the figure 8's and fell in love at the pet store had to get them !Pufferpunk wrote:Is 1" thick enough?

yeah i've already set most of this up, or atleast where it will go. Designed the Sump underneath the actual tank but will not be visible unless you open small compartment im designing into the wall to have access. Heater will go in the Sump to keep it out of visibility. Hmm I may just add more pumps to turnover more water an hour. Also reworking how i will be getting the water heated, debating if i should just add a line from the water heater.
