Yes maybe PP ,but it merely illustrates my point !!!............whens the last time you saw a spotted congo puffer ? , and i don't mean just a picture .

Never but I do know they have very visible LONG spines on their belly & NO green spot on their head, as per Dr Ebert's book: The Puffers of Fresh & Brackish Waters.

the spines are only really visible to the naked eye (and there short not long) , or if the puffer is inflated . You've never seen one . I rest my case !!

plus how would you know there easily visible to the nake eye , you've never seen one ya donut !!! lol

plus how many gsp's do you know come from the congo !! ..........the markings and eyes on that pic (which i have seen before ), are exactly how they were on my scp's !

Dude, relax. I didnt want to get involved in this, but now I got to. GL76 is more then welcome to comment on this thread.

You might have some fish keeping experience, but how much experience you have in keeping puffers ?

the fluviatilis would be a ceylon, not a green puffer as the link suggests and they are a high brackish - marine fish. and a nigroviridis would be a GSP, which needs a little more than "small amounts of salt", also a brackish - marine fish.

also the first picture that shows "two spotted congos", is obviously a GSP on the left, i have seen them many times and one i had actually looked very similar to this. the one on the right i believe to be something different, dont know what and most likely neither does that website
