How cute is this little face? This is a tail spot blenny, they stay really small and as long as there are not bullies, he should be out an around all the time according to an online friend.

Everyone says that clown fish are really mean and constantly bite them when they reach in the tank. I also feel like 20 gallons wouldn't be an adequate long term home for a clown as they don't tend to do so well in smaller tanks. Clownfish are damsels, and damsels are the demons of the fish world. I'd really pass on a clown if it were me. It's few and far between that you will find a nice clownfish, they are out there, but you wouldn't know just by looking at them.

Finding Nemo is a Disney cartoon? I really like Disney's Cinderella, the mice, especially Gus Gus really made that movie. But I could never get my mice to keep their clothes on, and they never made me any dresses.

They aren't mean, but they are territorial and run stuff off vs. full on attack...I wouldn't really compare clownfish to true damsels in terms of aggression...they are much more peaceful if the other animals aren't competing for space[hint, pick what you want carefully/don't crowd]...

20 gallons is enough for a clown...they aren't that big...and while they swim a *LOT* it's swimming while staying in place...meaning mine doesn't seem uncomfortable at all in a 20gH...it doesn't swim and slam into the glass or anything...

It's kind of funny that you want the hitchhikers, but it makes sense in a new setup. As for Peacocks, they look really cool, but seem to try and kill whatever they can get their claws on. Kill first, ask questions later.

I'm not comparing clownfish to true damsels, because they technically are true damselfish, as they fall under the genera Amphiprion.
Depending on the species of clownfish, they are every bit as aggressive as the damsels that carry "damsel" as part of their common name. Especially the maroon clown. The Ocellaris clownfish may be the least aggressive, but it is still a hit or miss if you get a fairly peaceful one or a semi-aggressive one, or a biting bully.
With the smallest clownfish species reaching about 3.5" to 4" and the largest reaching about 7", I don't really consider them a very tiny fish really. 20 gallons would likely be OK, especially at first, but I personally feel like for a lifetime home, it's a bit on the small size.

But if your kiddo is really hellbent on the clown, then I'd suggest the ocellaris clown, as they will likely only reach about 3.5", and they are better known for being a little more on the friendly side.

As long as I have something that moves and is pretty to look at he will be fine. I really dont like bullies. Im really liking the Blennys.

Im thinking Blenny with maybe a cardinal or two, and then the normal snails and crabs. Maybe a cleaner shrimp, or would that be over stocked?


Almost all the way full(5g didnt do it like I thought it would LOL) but high enough to turn on my canister. Also you can see my lighting system, and much clearer water

It's looking really nice. It depends how many crabs and snails you are planning on adding. I think one of everything you mentioned, plus the a blenny and cardinal could make a nice set-up. You said it was a 30g?
