You don't need a skimmer to run a successful SW tank.

Not trying to derail your thread.... but your corals are all so pretty, I just wonder.....

Can all this be grown with a Green Spotted Puffer in the tank??

Actually, I can't afford to start up anything new right now... I'm moving out and will be paying rent starting in November, and I have Astrid's vet bills to think of too. But when I get the chance, I'll be picking up some secondhand equipment and LR and get a tank ready for some zoas and a few shrimp.

I came home from vacation to a SW tank in bad shape. Mostly because the person who was to refill water in the tank, forgot what she was doing, and filled too much (my floor got wet too). That made the SG in the tank fall a lot. I also came home to a tank full of aiptasia. They spread fast! But, I had brought with me two peppermint shrimps from the vaction, to clear up the aiptasia. They have now been in my tank for 4 days, and I can't see a single aiptasia left! Talking of effective little workers! I also brought with me a lawnmower blenny and a cleaner shrimp. I love them! The blenny has such a good apetite that I am almost worried about him. It's been four days, and he is already getting fat! He eats all the time. The cleaner shrimp tries to clean the blenny, but the blenny don't care much for the treatment. I have so much fun watching them. :D SW is so fun! :D

I have one question though: There's something else that has spread a lot while I was gone. And I'm not sure whether it's feather dusters or hyrdroids. How can I see the difference between them?
