yes just keep adding flakefood to the tank and let it rot but dont od on it just add enough to maintain a source of ammonia in the tank to keep it cycled

+1 to PP's comments. The issues were highly likely all secondfary to physical injury (which also are likely to have occurred in transit) so were opportunistic and not really infectious. If the tank is held with nitrification support (fish foods will support both nitrification and the heterotrophic bacteria, so serve well) for a few weeks it should be okay for re-use.
