If it's of any consequence, I would rate my Eheim 11/10, because the build quality is above what is the sad standard now-a-days.
If I had less aquariums, I'd get Eheim only.

No it's nothing about brand, it's about what is cheaper overall. The sun sun is a ok filter but my eheim which is rated to similar flow kicks its buttocks. I won't argue. If you are on a budget buy one. If not go eheim as it will save you masses in the long term. Thank you seven as I thought I was fighting a losing battle there. Just ordered another eheim wet and dry, love it lol

Nah bertie, honestly I'm torn. I really want to order an Eheim for my 75 gallon, but the prices is scaring me lol.

haha you still don't get what im saying , eheim are the boll*x , except they for some reason decided to stop at 1700lph , which is high but not quite powerful enough for my liking . And if i want to pay £300 for a filter i'd expect a lot more . Actually a lot lot more !! lol

As for savings , at that price it , i could buy sun sun's all day long for the next 30 years !! LOL

I will admit they are steep, initial price is only afraction of the total cost tho. If you are in no immediate hurry bargains can be found, I have found eheims at half there retail in stores where they have been knocking around for a while. I got a 2329 for £120

Well, I bought another Sunsun/Aquatop, just the larger model. I spent a long time looking for an Eheim that had the GPH I wanted, but they were just too expensive.

Great to see this thread up! I just bought the AquaTop CF-400UV (photo below) before this past Christmas. Now that it's been a bit I can say so far - so awesome. I was a bit skeptical with the price being far more cheaper than other canister filters (i.e. EHEIM) but it is what was said, very good. I have to look at the output to make sure it's still working since it's so quiet.

Now for being in a 40g breeder tank, it's overkill. But for being in a 40g breeder tank with a puffer, it's perfect. I intentionally went up to 370 gals/hr to add some current (which Kirby loves to swim in) in the tank so as to not have to retrofit some kind of powerhead. More than likely this will be my GSPs living quarters for the rest of his life so I wanted to efficiently utilize his space inside the tank. The UV is a huge bonus and again, utilizing space. It does come with the option to include a skimmer but this tank won't need one since the output current is providing more than enough movement in the tank.

I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive canister filter that packs some power. Get them while they're in stock - not that I needed either but the 300&500 were out when I went to order. And a reminder, the 300 does NOT include the in-unit UV.

yes they are ever so quiet , i have to put my ear to my 2000 to hear it , its that quiet ! ...once again great confirmation for anyone out there looking to buy a new filter and not pay silly over the top prices

I have Eheims that are still running with all original parts 20+ years. Can these other filters say that? Great prices on Eheims at Big Al's or Amazon.

I used to run the 2000ltr version on my Oscar tank worked great then when i upgraded gave it my friend and is still going strong 3yrs later great bargain filter from ebay was only £69.99
