awww... the babies must be soooo cute!

You're such a great pet to your animals

Okay, well since you said such a nice thing about me, I've uploaded some brand new photos of the babies. There's 2 of the one baby and 2 of the other, although I don't expect any of you to be able to tell them apart.

Because they are aboreal, that's the first thing they do, climb onto something. That's why I've got all the little sticks in there. And I made the mistake early on of not closing the lid all the way and next thing, one was missing. I ended up finding him on the end of the aquarium! I find them hanging upside down a lot in their container, hanging from one foot even.

And, as for charging admission to come see our "zoo" ... I'm happy to have people see our critters for free!

It is with great regret that I inform you that one of my baby pygmy chameleons died on Monday.

Since this is my first experience raising baby pygmy chameleons, I don't know if there were things I should have done, or should not have done. I think I've given them the best care I possibly can. There's not much information available on the adult pygmies, let alone the babies.

I still have my other baby, and actually he's the older one. In another few days he will be 2 months old, so I think he's got a pretty good chance of making it. I hope so anyway. I'd love to have one live from emergence from the egg to adult like you'd buy in a shop. Even with the pygmy adults being so small, we got one out the other day and compared her with the baby -- that baby still has a long way to go before it will be as big as the parent.

They are very cool, so glad I have them.

any more eggs being laid?

Well that's another sad situation. I had removed 3 eggs from the vivarium so I could keep a better eye on them. I recently checked them and all 3 of them dried up, so there's no hope for them now.
So, my idea this time is to keep putting some of the micro crickets into the vivarium, that way, if any babies hatch out of eggs that I've missed, they will have something to eat. I would remove them from the viv once I find them, as I don't wany any inbreeding.
