Oh beautiful tank! I can't wait to get mine all put together - or just pick it up and see where I like it best. I have 3 spots it'll fit beautifully - with a 4th option as well.

1. a little larger than 4'x2' space behind my kitchen table, I'd just remove some leaves, hide an extra chair or two in a closet somewhere - and he'd fit nicely in the cubby there, I think.. might be a touch too tight.

2. When you walk in the front door, you see the living room, and down the hallway to the restroom. At the front of that hall is a space that is 4'x2' (actually a little deeper than 2'... ) and you'd mostly see the end of the tank when you came in, but would have to stand in the hall to see the full on view - prolly get as far as 2' back from it... not extremely fond of that.

3. chuck the love seat, and put it in the origional 'perfect' spot to get some indirect natural light, and optimum viewing.

4. Bedroom. Meh. Although, I could MAYBE set it up so it's RIGHT next to my desk >.> I think my boyfriend would kill me LMAO

Also thinking, I might HAVE the tank wednesday - but it might take me a bit to get it up and going. Work and school are going to keep me hopping, plus the rugrat. I'm also going to invest in some new sand - not really satisfied with what i bought. Plus I wanna try snaggin up a few kuhli loaches (ordered in at LFS) and a school of tiger barbs or cherry barbs to put in, acclimate and have settled before vicious goes in. I think that would give me the biggest success rate - if they are in there BEFORE him, right? I have the weekend off, so will probably be able to find SOME time to fiddle around with it haha... and take pics of progress!

I agree I want it there too. We shall see. I wanted to take my time with setup and maybe do it over a week or so, but boyfriend tried to feed vicious a nightcrawler which he said went ignored and it dug into and got lost in substrate... So a deep clean will be needed, might as well try to get the right sand and shoot for a good setup asap, get the temp right and filter moved over..... Might wind up passing on kuhli loaches if I can't put them in first lol idk............ Still debating on how to go. However it's tank day (technically).... So gonna crash n wake up so I can get my tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's so crazy. Any other day I'd be like, "uggghh, it's 8 a.m.... Just wanna go back to ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..." but today.... wow, today... I know we aren't leaving here to go get the tank until 1 or so... but I've already got my house clean, dishes done, laundry done, shower for me, bath for kiddo and I'm ready to go out the door... just need... blankets for packing... =/

I think I'll see if my dad or sis have some that aren't being used...

UGH.. it just started pouring.

Hopefully it passes soon!

Well, so far I've sketched it out. I need to buy new sand - I'll have to see how I'm setting money wise after today's adventure LOL... IDK how much gas i'll have to put into the truck we are using. My guess is that it'll be more than i'd have to put into my little 4 banger lol...

Going to look through all the stuff I currently have in tanks, and through research, found that if I wash the sand well - put it in - then 'decorate' it dry (before putting water in, or with minimal water) it will turn out better and be easier to plant my plants and such. I'll take as many pics as I can - I'll start charging the camera now! I told my boyfriend we (dad, kiddo and I) were going to go 'look' at a tank. I didn't tell him though that I'm taking along my sis and her boyfriend for extra muscle, and that I have EVERY intention to bring it home today.

That's alright. He can yell all he wants LOL I don't care :D

...Just talked to him on the phone. I think he knows that if I go look - It's coming home. He knows I have money LOL...

He won't yell. :)
In fact, I think he might be a little excited about it....

Last night, he called me at work and asked if it was 'ok' if he fed the puff a nightcrawler. I said, "well no... cuz he won't eat it and it'll just bury in the substrate and die." He goes, "That's what I was afraid of, because that's what the worm did..." (He already put the worm in!) He said he tried searching for it the best he could using bamboo skewers (he was too scared to put his hands in there... chomp chomp!) so I told him I'd just have to do a deep clean, or yanno... have a good reason to 'redo' the tank lol... He chuckled and said "ya." Or yanno... just buy a new tank LOL...

Yay. What a productive day. I need to get my butt in gear, so much to do!
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

LOL

Ya, especially for planted tanks, filling the tank up with water just halfway up the substrate is a good idea. Makes the sand moist which is easy to plant with, and easier to get in and plant. :)

BTW, I'm tearing up my rock tank today. Its gonna be planted now. I have some awesome rocks that will look good, along with some great pieces of driftwood.
I'll keep the whiteclouds, but the halfbeaks will be going back.
