cool, thanks bauk! is that all you use is lights? or would i need more than that? i also use liquid fertelizer once in a while... i dont know if its actually doing anything or not... but i add it whenever i think about it, probably like once a month or something. can you post a pic of fayas home? id like to see it so i can get an idea of what i could do for Kukah

Re: Villa BaLu!
I think i have to little light in my tank..all my plants are not doing fine.. The crypro's sre oke, but they not realy growing a lot, but my Vallisneria is horrible..
When i moved into my new home ivé got a new gravel.. Someone told me that it should be better for Faya.. but nothing will grow normal. In my other tanks ivé got the same gravel i use for a few years and there everything is growing oke..
So yesterday a new decoration in Faya's tank. Al the plants out, every leaf i've cleaned en take of all the ugly parts.. And it was not a lot that i could put back..
15kg new sand and some new rocks. The wood back and some plants on the wood so there would be some green in the top of the tank.
"Where are my plants?! It's not funny!"

Crazy little thing! She was not amused, she tried to grab my hand..she never did that before! Where my hand was, was she! Every plant i took in it looks like she wants to see if it was on the right spot...my precious!

Undercover

And ready.. a bit sad.. just like my budget
In a few weeks i will buy some new plants.. now i hope she will leave this plants alone and she's not going to reorganize the tank on her own

And then Loekie, she did'nt like the open space in her tank.. Now she have a little space to chill and some extra plants. The older plants are growing fine, so i hope it wil grow and grow and grow so she also can hide in the top of the tank

Beautiful thing!

Faya loves it! The hole time she is hiding behind one small leave, looking at me like she say, "you cant see me anymore!"

And the GSP's, i think they were hungry

Wow, your tanks are just gorgeous. And Loekie is so pretty!
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

Re: Villa BaLu!
hey bauk, i have a question.... is there a way to know if a fahaka is a girl or a boy? i noticed faya's mouth is shaped differently than Kukahs... do females have more rounded faces? cause kukahs is more pointed kind of and ive seen a few other fahakas that have rounded mouths like yours... and then there are others that seem to be more pointed like kukahs... i think pookie's mouth looks like his, if i remember right.... is that a way to tell? just something i noticed, didnt know if it was linked to genders... i know it is for some fish, like my red devil for instance
see kukah's mouth?

Re: Villa BaLu!
youre so sweet, you talk about faya like you have a lot of love for her... she sounds like she definately holds a special place in your heart... i think its common for most fahaka owners, but you seem like you definately have a different kind of love for her, probably because of her long journey from how she started off to how she is now (which is remarkable might i add, great job, definately gave her a seccond chance)... shes a special girl
thats one reason i have so much love for kukah, though he wasnt nearly as bad off as faya, he still had a hard life, his personality has definately blossomed since hes been in my care

Re: Villa BaLu!
Thx! You make me blush
But it's right.. In my eyes Faya is not just a fish.. It's realy one of the Familie
I love al my puffers and i can't miss one of them, but Faya is my little second child
In Dutch there i a word for it, and when i put it in Google translate it's: tactile factor.
When i'm coming home, there is always one fish come to say hello ( oke, almoust every time
) and immediately shows that she wants to play! My other puffers come and look at me, Lilo begins immediately as a fool to attack the glass, little agressive tiny thing
Mini is always from a distance looking who it is before she's coming. And Loekie seems to focus only to themselve
He realy hate's his own image i think and only looks and plays with me when it's light outside
But Faya follow's me where i go. Late in the evening when i'm watching tv and there is one light of she's always on the swim, looking under the Crypto's, hiding behind a Vallisneria leaf, or just taking some floaters in her mouth to see if she can eat it. But every time i move, put my hand up, take my drink, one of her ploppy eyes is watching me! When she thinks i'm going to walk she almoust takes a run to come against the glas so she can see what i'm going to do.. and i love that! My old boyfriend always thought there was someone watching him, and a few times he told me, that strange big fish of yours doesn't like me.. it looks like me if she can eat me in a sec..
I almost pee in my pants!! I don't uinderstand that kind of peeps
A whole story.. She's realy one of our's
My 4 year old son have asked me a few times, that when Faya is getting some kids, he want's one for in his own house when he's big
So sweet!

She do'nt like the evening and i hope it will be better when i've got some new harder plants for in the corner.. little strange cutie

A few new pics! From the new fishies and some of the corals..
2 Clownfishies! My son loves them and since he saw Nemo the whole time when we are at the LFS he's was around the nemo's and Dory's.. So now we've got 2 of them! 1 big and 1 small, i think biggie is 4cm and smallie is 2.5cm and Mini loves them! He cannot take his eyes of Biggie, and everywhere biggie goes, Mini follows

Lilo was not happy with his new tank mates

Little strange fishie

Sweet Mini

and some of my under water flowers

My little paradise
