He does look a little bit yellow. I'll keep an eye out for future signs of boy or girlhood.
I gave him 3 blood worms earlier. One dropped into the gravel and two onto the big stone. One of those went straight into one of the million holes and the other went across the part it landed on- right near the big hole in the middle. Well, Squirt had been hanging out behind the big stone and came through the big hole to check things out. Next thing I knew, he eyed the worm once with each eye then WHAM! No more worm. Perfect puffer style. Other two I assume will live in there a bit until they get eaten, too.

I actually have to feed my almost-adult DPs about 7-10 worms to get them full-looking.

Good thought! You can increase feedings as you see that he finishes off the amount that you've offered and that his tummy isn't full.

They should stay good and alive until he finds them. You could also try feeding him one at a time and waiting while he eats each one. Idk. Different people have different systems.

He's been swimming around and checking out the nooks and crannies. He's gone into the cave behind the grass-like plant in the front. He he. He could hide in any number of the holes, but that one he can hide in for sure. He also has been coming to check people out. I told my kids not to scare him or else he could associate people with fear and not food and hide all the time.

I came home tonight after a long day and fed Squirt. He had at least one worm- very quickly! Another went into the gravel. However, he has a nice round belly! So he must be finding the ones he doesn't get right away.
