I can't call them anything until I can ID each one / find them on a regular basis Maybe I should Tattoo them LOL!! J/K

No Probs on the reactor link. My wife cussed me up and down this morning for going to mississauga for the meet. BUT, she is a softie when it comes to animals and is quite pleased now and telling all her relatives back home.

Ok, so there's the little one. We call it a male as often females are larger. It's quite visibly smaller and has darker colouring.

Then there's a large one. She stays quite golden most of the time. Normally her stripes are different shades of gold and only go dark when she sleeps. The last one is just the middle one, lol. She is large and has more definite stripes.

They don't look that stressed at all. Wait'll you do a large water change or replant the tank Apparently compared to those being dumped in random containers and driven over 500kms is nothing Silly fish

They went to town on the snails and shrimp I am surprised that they actually ate so little.

BTW I had an excellent chance at one of them hunting down some shrimp, I ran for the camera.. the cat got in the pic because it was jealous and the wife started calling cause dinner was ready ... talk about bad timing!

Well I fed the SAPs blood worms today and they really enjoyed it. They slurped them down like spaghetti strands. It was fun to watch.

I am a little concerned with one of the larger ones. It looks like he/she has over eaten. The other 2 appear fine with slightly rounded bellies. This one looks like he ate a SAP sized football! I hope it didn't eat an entire snail and can't pass it. It is still active and swimming and chased after the blood worms readily enough.

Also of not... most of my shrimp population is gone or is in hiding. Probably the little fatty is the culprit. I think I'll have to order more and have them in the 10 Gal. Catching a few breeding pairs won't populate quick enough in 2 months

Do you have a picture? They can pack a lot in there. A lot. That's why I had to spread their food out and even then it didn't really work. Even with food spread out the golden one would be huge and the little one would just have a little bump.

That's probably the one that ate the cory wafers... and the algae wafers too ... Even when I dropped those in after dark...

Don't worry. They can get WAY bigger than that and even those tummies disappeared after a day or two

As far as I can see no, not really. They slow down and very slowly cruise the bottom, but I haven't seen them at a dead stop since day 1.

They stop when they sleep. They all sit on the substrate together, oftentimes close to or actually touching. If you stress them out they'll lay on the bottom too (like a big water change or replanting).

I had my vet order the MS-222. Have your small animal vet order it for you from that company or have them write you a script and then you order it through the company.

I'll do my best not to laugh They can easily get at least twice that size. When I originally got them and they had IPs pretty bad I was feeding each of them a cube of bloodworms per day as they were thin and the weight came off so quickly. Once that was done and they were back to health I was feeding them 2 cubes (for all three) approximately every other day. I would worry when they get to nearly twice that size

I have separated 3 SAEs the other day (see hospital forum viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22364), got a new Zoo Med sweeping powerhead, and a pond skimmer!

While installing the pond skimmer I was fighting and getting all bruised up because I couldn't get it into the gap between the 2 tanks when my wife says "turn it upside down" .. LOL!! It worked like a charm!

I then had to cut some pipe and get the fittings in place. I really stressed out the fish cause I took a hammer to the thing while it was in the tank. In the end it works! Now my main pump and the power sweeper are both connected to the the skimmer. I did this because my old skimmer stopped working then the water level dropped below a certain point and would heat the mag drive pup up too much. This skimmer has a floating hinge so regardless of the water level it will constantly filter. Also, it adds a larger surface area for filtration vs the old sponge wrap around the pump intakes.

The main problem I had with it, was that it tended to float so I use 2 thinks I have lots of, balls (bio balls) and rocks to keep it from drifting around the tank. It works like a charm and I've had a noticeable water quality improvement in 24 hours
