Puffers have been known to ingest crushed coral and unfortunately this can cause intestinal blockage/obstruction. I have seen this on many necropsies.

Thank you, very interesting article puffer queen. Learned a bit more, after 7 1/2 yrs with this guy I have seen him many a time blow the coral out of the way in search of food, never any interest in digesting it so I don't really think it was the coral but good point to remember. Now that I think about it puff had lately developed the habit of nipping at the silk plants. Needless to say they were removed after finding many plastic pieces floating in the water. The boyfriend the fish expert but not on puffers, that is my love, did suspect this could of be the cause of the blockage. Might want to include silk or plastic plants as hazardous to puffers in your next article.
You don't have to tell me about reticularis puffer and there teeth my Star (the puffer forum logo fish) practical flatten the power heads . Puffers will be puffers . Thanks again for you time and help it is so much appreciated. Any suggestion on a new puffer I have access to a importer so can possible get anything. The 125gl was puff's tank no other fish but a couple of damsel, was kind of thinking of the Panda Puffer. Would love to hear your input.
