One more sad update. Our second F8 puffer died today. I really want to thank you for your help in trying to save them.

I am pretty devastated right now - and actually have been since this happened. I HATE knowing my ignorance caused these fish to go through this.

We are now 100% focused on ensuring our GSPs live a long and happy life. New tank (this weekend), new knowledge and new friends here.

Really? Did you try calling or emailing them? I'm very surprised since they have a Canadian distribution center now.

Ok, try this place. They sell Biospira, they ship stuff to Canada (not sure which stuff, but stuff) and have a good reputation from others I've seen who have used them.

I was wondering? Did you ever call the fish shop back and give them a piece of your mind? Arm yourself with as much new information on GSPs and F8s as you can and then please please educate these stupid people!

I'd also reccomend just reading and reading and reading everything you possibly can about the fish while waiting for the new tank. I did a lot of reading, for years, before I felt ready to start keeping puffers and your fish are going to eventually need a full marine tank. I think you should really know what that involves first while there may still be a chance to return the fish to the store.

Hmmm.. well I'm out of ideas on where to find Biospira for ya. But since you can't find any, just stick with the daily water changes and using the Prime.

While Biospira is a cycling agent par excellence, have you considered using Stability (manufactured by Seachem)? I have gotten excellent results using this as a bacterial cycling agent, and it doesn't require refrigeration (making it far easier to find).

Ting: I have not called them yet. I wanted to keep productive and focused until this was over. I get crickets from there every two weeks for my Lizard so I plan on informing them of this situation and what impact it has had on us. I plan on reading everything I can now. I have already read a lot. I love information!

Boxermom - Thanks again so much for your help. I REALLY appreciate everything you have done for us. It just appears that the infection hit too hard too fast to save our fish :/ Hopefully this situation will help others in the future.

andregurov - I will read up on Stability now. I am very new to this so this is the first time I have heard of it. I do plan on continuing with Boxermom's advice for the time being though.

Stability doesn't do much, if anything, to cycle a tank. Anything that does not require refrigeration contains dead bacteria that is useless for cycling a tank. Don't bother wasting your money on it.
