Hey, RTR, have you seen a figure 8 puff up? what do they look like?

Only very, very rarely. They do not seem to practice puffing as much as say GSPs do. Or they are very sneaky about it. Like most GSPs, they are quite responsive to the presence of humans in the area, and come forward and beg for food/attention, especially from their keeper. Practice puffing seems to be done most often by my puffers while the fish is just hanging out and not swimming actively. F-8s are more than a bit hyper for me, while GSps do just hang out with some regularity. But their spines do show nicely when they puff.

on the f8s? what do the spines look like?

Puffers do have spines, but on many of the smaller ones, the don't show much when the fish is not puffed up.

I cant find any of f8s inflating :/

I have kept many more F-8s than any other puffer, perhaps as many or more than all the other species combined, but as I said, seeing them puff has been rare. Most puffer IME "practice puff" more while they are immature and still growing strongly. Once growth slows down, they don't seem tp puff as much for me.

I just spent 15 mins sorting out the smallest mussels from a 2lb bag for fish suppers..

I keep getting deathly ill from my corals. HIGH fever (once, 103.3), chills, body ache, sore throat, congested lungs. This is exactly how I feel right now. I am tearing down my 2 reef tanks, which is only making this much worse for me.

That sounds like allergic bronchitis. I used to get it when we ran through the woods doing cross country at school - I'm allergic to mould spores. Think you might be allergic to something in the tanks.

That's terrible Pufferpunk! Yup, sounds like high sensitivity or multiple sensitivities. I would likely drop the reef tanks. I have too many allergies as it is.

The reef tanks are being ravaged by the local reefers & torn down ASAP, for my impending move. I'm done with SW.

Hairy puffers are great. Piggy is very interactive and entertaining. And soooo easy to look after; I just do a 24l water change daily, and pick out the grot. He does v pretty pink poos too.

That's awfully scary....define "blown up"...do you mean as in shards of glass all in the tank?
