Mine had his dorsal fin nearly completely missing, but it's already almost fully regrown, so it should heal quickly!
Nice vid, I put in 6 ghost shrimp when I introduced 2 bbg's to the tank in hope the shrimp would distract the puffer... needless to say 1 was destroyed almost immediately, and well... I didn't feed my puffer for the next 3 days. Shrimp for dinner mmmhmm!
P.S. Love the spongebob theme lol.

Yea thanks. My wife was reaaaalllly unhappy with the fact that i brought in another fish, let alone it needing the tetra tank (cant house it with fahaka for sure) that i had to compromise and use it as decorations for my unborn son ( due next month

). Lol i was like suure spongebob and i got to keep him wooo.. my fahaka still sleeps in his throne adorned with skeletons.

in the living room so i still kinda keep myself intact.

Spouses always seem to be an issue when we want another tank

. Surprisingly my wife seemed fine with the 142gallon tank even though a month before she said no more tanks

.

Get one from your lfs or online, they're pretty inexpensive and absolutely necessary. Use marine salt like Instant ocean or whatever, as long as it's marine, I usually do 1 tbsp at a time until I reach a SG of 1.004 (prefered f8 SG), usually works out to ~1tbsp per 1g, but ALWAYS use a hydrometer to make sure it's at the right number.
Definitely follow the rule of upping SG 1.002 per week, or you'll kill ur bio filter. In general, if you have a 20 gallon tank, 10 gallons of water with a SG of 1.004 added to 10 gallons of FW would get you 1.002 SG BW. Add the 1.004 BW slowly and test the SG when you get 1/2 of the BW into the tank and then again when u put 3/4 in.
Just did a 10g change in a 20g tank. Added did the 1tbsp per gallon and you were more or less correct thanks!

defool, treat for Interal Parasites ASAP while he wants to eat, I don't like the narrowness of him. He could have just been underfed until he got to you , but it is better to be careful.
library/hospital/internal-parasites-pre ... treatment/
My puffers are gonna eat some crafish tonight, maybe I'll make a video

You need to treat the food not the water
Everybody has their own method, but what I do is get a coffee cup, put a couple of spoon fulls of tank water, put thawed blood worms in and about 1/4 of a piece of a jungle tab.. stir it around, let it fizz, let it soak for awhile then feed the blood worms to the puffer, you can get them at most walmarts.
Jungle tabs looks like this

Don't worry it is easy to do.

Tiny tupperware containers are ideal for this with the added benefit they are shatterproof and include a lid for extended storage.

I successively treated my f8 using liquid prazipro... small bottle costs under$10 shipped from ebay. I used sun dried krill, put it in a gatorad cap lol, added enough drops of prazi to cover the krill, then added juice from jarred garlic equal to the amount of prazi used... then let it soak an hour before feeding. Fed this for 5 days straight and sunken tummy disappeared. Should probably use a small piece of thawed frozen shrimp tho deshelled for easier med absorption, as any krill isnt vey nutritious. You can get the shrimp and garlic at walmart. Make sure to get raw shelled shrimp... dont remove the shell except for treatment... and garlic that contains only garlic, water... and acceptable extras.... mine had garlic+water and some weak safe food acid... I forget, either acetic or citrus. no preservatives.... google it if youre not sure.

Np glad I could help... I'm learning from my F8 so expect me to comment when my own experience might be useful lol.
