Yeah, I will agree with a sump added to a large marine tank.

Technically, you can put a sump on any size tank, and it's always a benefit because it gives you more water volume.

Remember sumps add water volume which is a massive bonus. Not to be confused with swimming space obviously. You can also hide equipment in there which is another bonus. As for the best set up I can't help but someone will be along soon to answer.

I never messed with a sump in all my years...lol So I cant really give you good advice but they are better then canister and HOB's when it come to large SW tanks. HOB and canisters on the other hand with have to be clean alot more often. For a 75 gal SW tank, you can do what you are doing if everything is running and working good. SW tanks need extra filtration and water movement. Well any tank being over filtering is better then under filtering.

My water parameters are always perfect and canister gets cleaned weekly. I also have to 950 gph wave makers in the tank. I have to turn them off to feed or Snoopey gives up on catching his food. Would like to do a sump but not even sure where to begin. Let the research begin.

I see a ton of step by step threads on setting up awesome sump set-ups all the time. LOL@Snoopy tryin to catch food in those currents...

The site is currently undergoing some coding and server maintenance stuff and all that jazz. Since some updates some of the codes don't work. I have found a good way to deal with this is go to Google, and type in whatever you were going to search, and just writing "thepufferforum" behind it.
