really afoot! aww they look so cool. in the article i read it said they mostly picked on slow moving/long fined fish, so the upsid down cats and the rest wont work? is there any fish that will work?

Fast-moving ones, like danios but some puffers may not allow any tankmates a bit of peace.

Ok , heres my stocking scheme so far: ill start w/ plants 2 amazon sxords, lots of java moss on the friftwood some java fern, 3 banana plants mabe some moss balls.
now fish, 5 tiger barbs, 5 Celestial Pearl Danios , 1 brislenose pleco (will he get bulied?), 5 chery shrimp, 1 dp i will try too pick out the most mild temperd one i see if hes not i will return him and try again and i will keep looking till i find one im determined :)
does this sound over stocked? do i have extra room?

That has bad news written all over it. I have housed many dps, only 2 have allowed tankmates. The rest mutilated even the fastest tankmates. If you want a puffer tank, do a puffer tank. If you wish to mix fish go for community fish. Dps are not community fish full stop

even if i try to find the right puffer ? im not alowed by my parents to have anymore tanks in the house i reaaly want puffers but i want alot of other fish to so i gues i have to dcide? anyone elses input?? :?

Dps are extremely picky eaters. If u have a community tank with dp in it, most likely u will have problem feeding them properly, if u can find them. Starvation will eventually lead to aggression.

A tank with a few dps in is probably one of the best tanks to sit and watch, you won't need any other fish. I miss mine.

Thanks for the input, i think im gona save puffers for a time when i have a bit more experience, but i will definitly come back to them :)

that might be your best bet. definitely give them another chance down the road though, they are very interesting and personable fish. definitely worth the species only tank
