I rescued two 1.5-2" GSP from a woman on Craigslist that was going to let them go in the ocean if no one took them. I drove an hour each way and placed them in my ten gallon tank when I got home. After doing my homework all night, I searched and found a great deal on a used 60 gallon tall tank, stand and hood($50!). After a quick trip for my LFS to pick up a filter, better light for the hood, sand, heater, salt and plants...I got to work. My issue is that in the state of Maine pet stores can't sale snails....they don't even give them away because it illegal.
What can I feed my GSP???? As of now I'm feeding frozen brine shrimp and freeze dried krill.
Does anyone of this forum breed/sale snails that I can buy?

Cut the Freeze Dried Krill... it causes lockjaw in all species of pufferfish. Instead of live snails, you could offer him ghost shrimp. These aren't too terribly difficult to keep and raise; once your 60 gallon is up and running you could use your 10 gallon for ghost shrimp or even cherry shrimp. Your GSP would probably also like frozen mussels. You could also give him an earthworm, too.

Your tank won't be cycled. You need to do minimum 50% daily waterchanges. Multiples of that would be better. Do you know anyone with an established tank?
It's amazing how easy maintenance is. If done regularly and thoroughly

See if you can get Tetra's Safestart from your LFS to cycle the tank. Leave it as FW for now--don't add any salt until the bacteria is well established.

I asked what tank size they were and got this as a response "The tank contains 30 Liters, but I don't have it anymore. In this video they were swimming in saltwater"
