Sounds like you were just unlucky. Snails are near impossible to kill, so prob just one of those things

The trick is decent water and no competition.

Not sure. Mine are in a rather small tank. 5g with a heater and 8 hour light cycle. Normal water params and all. They have been breeding like crazy. My ghost shrimp can't use their cave anymore because it's full of eggs.

Plus i feed them 3 algae wafers a day to keep them stuffed. ^^

Went to PetCo today and got a whopping 27 ramshorn for free. Mostly brown and clear but there are some reddish ones and a few blues. =D

I HAVE RAM BABIES! I'm excited! Not sure what colors they'll be yet but i know i have red, blue, black, brown and clear adult rams.

I am not sure if I have any XD. Sometimes I think I do sometimes I don't. The gravel I have is not good for snail spotting. It has all these different tones of brown. and I am colourblind to boot.
My pond snail tank on the other hand is overflowing with baby snails. But it has no decoration minus 2 plants, unlike the ramshorn tank that is the fluval edge so I made it look nice .

I think there is more pond snail in pile than actual algae wafer.

I've finally been seeing a lot of ramhorn babies too and found all my red cherry females berried. Pig will be a very happy puffer soon.

Still considering a fluval chi or something for breeding those micro crabs.

My ghost shrimp haven't been doing anything. No berried females or anything. If they don't do something soon, they get to face the terror in the other tank. haha

I'll try to get some pics of all my pest snail babies. They're literally everywhere. The ram babies are still too small to get a "good" picture of.

Nice. I am thinking of letting this round of babies live, in the ramshorn tank. With only 3 adults I think I could use a few more that are putting down eggs.

I have 3 rams that are MASSIVE that i'm going to keep for breeding.. They're as big around as a nickle. I gave Smudge a couple smaller rams today along with 2-3 pests. I figure i'll just let the rams breed until all the pests are gone then i'll start feeding him rams.

i have trumpets, lots of trumpets. and NO other snails will survive in my tank. its kind of bad. but i have a good buddy who breeds the feeders so it all works out.

I tossed in a red cherry shrimp last week. Today I saw it going around the tank. Pig is not a good hunter. He will give chase mind you, but the shrimp is fast.
