No it's ok, I totally understand. I was probably going to try the salt method? Haven't really decided. Just want to do what's best and less stressful. I guess the salt method just made me a bit nervous-- I don't want to stress him out anymore than I need too = / I worried about what happened if I added the salt and he didn't take it too well. At least the Ich Attack is herbal.

Quick question: He ate, now he's pooping, and he has some dark stuff coming out with what looks like it's a very TINY hair attached to the end of the poop (like the very fine hair thing came out first). Could this be IPs possibly? Does it work that fast?

Yes ich attack is herbal, I've not had ill effects witnessed, but it's still chemicals, and I worry that you're used a little then stopped which could build up an immunity, and also the smaller water volume. That doesn't mean those last things are absolute though.

Why don't you try the salt method I linked, RTR is very thorough to explain what to do in order to keep it safe as far as the heat goes. Follow it exactly.

That hair thing may be some worms, and sometimes it starts helping within a day. But, dead or dying ones will sometimes pass, doesn't mean the medicine is working that fast necessarily.
It could also be that he ate a small hair.

Damn..didn't think about the immunity...should I treat 1-2 more days since it says to treat 3-4 after the signs are gone? Today would be the third day, tomorrow the fourth. Then the salt method for the remaining week and a half?

Ok, looks like I am using IA then. There hasn't been a gap in treatment, but the last of his spots disappeared about two days ago. Hoping that the jungle stuff works soon. I looked up a couple of pics online and the stories behind them and he does look like a puffer with IPs. I am just thankful that it hasn't gotten him down as of yet. Hopefully he will be a happy little puff soon.

For the pathogen immunity problems listed above, please make sure whatever treatment you do can run its full course or you may end up strengthening the parasites, and wasting your time and money. +1 to what SYN said. Salt and heat are the most basic and in my opinion, effective way for defeating ich quickly. The only other treatment I've ever added is Ich Attack, but still for the full duration of the treatment, and a good week after spots were gone.

I would focus most heavily on treating his food to get rid of those IPs. Ich can be a background problem taken care of using just salt and heat. In the end you will have a much happier and healthier fish, than one with tons of drugs in its tank.

Feeding him the soaked bws and treating with IA isn't going to hurt him will it? He's getting really skinny. Makes me worried...**just saw your most recent post. I already have been treating for Ich using IA. I can't really stop treatment just to give him the soaked bws can I? I know I need to get the ips out of him, but today is only the third day he has been spot free. Needs at least another 4 days of IA in his tank.

Keep up on your daily water changes too, it concerns me that you put 3 different types of medication in the water, 2 of which are not made for ich, and it's only a small tank as is. You don't want to od your little dude.
Stick with the treatment, don't miss doses, and continue for 2 weeks past last spot seen.

Yes, ich attack is stinky, but it's worked safely for every time I've used it. Fish showed no signs of distress during treatment, no one died, all good to go. But this is only because I was unable to use the salt treatment.

No, the IP medication isn't going to hurt him, that is the ONLY way to kill the worms.

If the IA, worked, and no lapse in treatment, continue 2 weeks. Ich primarily attacks the gills and those cannot be seen, so we go by what we can see, and add 2 weeks to cover it all. I know it says 3 days, but do 2 weeks. You don't want them to return. Ich can only be killed in its free floating stage, and this is when they leave the body and it looks like it's gone, but you need to continue treating after seeing the last sit so the free floating ones cannot reattach.

How come I can't see SYN's original post, and as of right now, he only has two meds in the tank. One being the IA, and the other being the Jungles. I stopped the BiFuran+ on the 7th, being the 5th day of treatment, and started to use the IA. I will do a WC tomorrow and get most of the Jungle out, and just continue with IA and soaked bws...and definitely do not want the ich to return, so last day of 2.5 mls of IA going into the tank with be Sept. 22nd.

Yeah I found it. Can't believe I didn't see it. Been watching this post all night LoL. Poor BF feels left out because I have been on my compy while babying my puff
