well after thinking about it 100-150 would be more realistic. Figure 4-5 gallons per each one so 100-150 would be better

The mbu would be unable to turn except where the tank was cleared of plants and would still likely damage its caudal fin. But both mbus and fahakas will remove any plants they do not like. If the room is not water-tight and floor-drained, The mbu would be an issue if the tank were normally filled - they can push one heck of a bow wave at feeding time...
If you keep SAPs diet =/>95% common pond and ramshorn snails of appropriate size (requires a lot of tank room for snail rearing), only the rare SAP will have dental issues. Any less crunch will not work. That unfortunately reduces the available tankmates to algae and wood grazers.

Yes but their shells are strong enough to break the puffers teeth and then you're in for a lot of work. Unfortunately they aren't a suitable food.

You could get by with one Fahaka in there. The interesting part of it would be trying replicate the habitat on that large of a scale, that could absolutely make the one Fahaka worth it....

+1 to dadof4 i would make that a monster tank for my fahaka lots of rootey wood and plant and caves etc etc i want a tank that big the wife says not till we move, which is probably sensible. you could make a divider 6ft for fahaka and 2ft for dwarves, black plastic with many many drilled holes lol

definitely a fahaka, a you have just the right length and width. It is a little tall but that is easy enough to work around

What more could I add to this tank that would make it more Fahaka friendly, Bigger driftwood or more plants or leave him plenty of swimming room.

I didn't have the width in my 500 for one, but of you can get a tree stump and place it upside down it would look amazing
As far as plants go.. that is a hit and miss apparently. Some Fahakas like to do their own aquascaping / arrangements
I'd take advantage of that height and egg crate some shelves for plants along the back pane.

Will I be able to put a scavenger in with him and I already do 50% water changes twice a week; will that be enough?

That's definitely more than enough for a single fahaka.
Tankmates will be a hit and miss. Some will tolerate some, others won't tolerate any. Some will be fine with their tankmates for a year and then turn on them with no warning.

My fahaka just took a big chunk out of my large male Frontosa's dorsal fin, after living with him for 6 years.
you could make a divider 6ft for fahaka and 2ft for dwarves
No divider will stop a fahaka from killing, if it wants to get at another fish. Read the Fahaka breeding article.

you might get lucky with tankmates for a while lol. to make it fahaka friendly just use ur imagination lots of well maintained plans driftwood and hiding places, just make it visually complex and interesting so he can explore without taking up all his turning space

I found a LPS in the area that has a 2" Fahaka; should I put him directly in the 535gal or grow him out first in my 120g.
