Oh, make sure the food is uncooked, no preservatives, but at a deli they shouldn'thave preservatives. If the mussels are still alive, freeze them first. Squid, scallops, etc. also great.

THANK YOU so much Seven! I finally got Yoshi to eat a shrimp i got him. he only took like 4 bites but it more then what hes eaten all week. i will stick the shrimp in the fridge and keep givving him a few bites every day. i got him to eat it by tieing a thread to it and bobbing it in the water as if it were a live shrimp. hopefully i can get him actual live food to eat. (since he seems to refuse to eat the feeder fish i got him XD) :D :D

Oh that's odd that he was rude! Where do you live?
That is awesome that you made a shrimp marionette puppet! Four bites is great, they have small tummies.
Don't get him eating any feeder fish, it can transfer diseases and they aren't considered a good food source nutritionally speaking.

well i got him the fish before i knew that and he hasnt even ever touched. wich makes me happy. but i am super excited every bit he took made me happier and happier. yea my GSP shares his tank with a little Rosey Red feeder. i figured they were ok in the 10 gallon tank so the 30 wld be ok right? yea well i put the shrimp in there and he didnt even glance but when i got it out and started bobbing it he clddnt stay away! heh. fish compatibility wise can i get a pleco to put in there? or is that a bad idea?

30 gallon is the suggested bare minium for a single GSP so I would just stick with him in the 30 gallon.

Stick with just the GSP in the 30gal. A pleco wouldn't be suitable as they are FW fish and GSPs aren't.

If you're keeping a GSP, then aragonite sand is recommended to keep the pH steady, around 8. Have you read the GSP article in our Library? A lot of your Qs can be answered in there.
