lol i scrolled down and saw the little guys face and i lol'd, then i scroll down more and you just see these orange eyes poking out that was even better! congrats on the puff and the success so far. im getting fahaka fever, i always have but worse now that i have no puffs currently. all these fahaka threads popping up all of a sudden. i have the perfect spot(i think, i would have to measure) for a 4x2x2 tank or even possibly slightly bigger. i would just have to either move or get rid of my SW set up... decisions, decisions

Nothing but eyes..lol.

Fahaka fever huh. I love and miss SW puffers and the next best thing is a fahaka, imo. They remind me of a marine species rather then a FW species.

the eyes pic could be POTM material 8) i loved my GSP, but another one isnt in the works anytime soon. so honestly i dont look at my marine tank the same. so why not sell it for the funds for a bigger tank and get my other favorite puffer  besides when i got my tank i really liked the look of it, but i didnt realize the limitations it would put on me wanting to make my own sump and all the good stuff you get to do with SW in filtration. it was a really good price on a nice tank so i jumped without thinking too much ahead. its a 54 corner so its tough to work with putting something of decent size for more volume, honestly the only way i have seen a sump done for it was a 15-high, anything else would pretty much have to be external to the stand if i wanted a good sized sump. but back to the fahaka  i love the eyes picture

What a lovely picture!

So cute to see them fully burried with those big eyes. :D

Mine is too lazy to fully burry herself.

Quick question,

Right now Hapi eats Hikari Bio-Gold+ pelets, rhams, marble crays(small ones), and shell on frozen prawns with out any problems.

He killed off my snail farm, I was down to one snail and just got a 2nd one a few days ago in hope that they will reproduce.. The crays are doing ok but he has quickly killed more than they can produce at the moment... I have 2 full adults, and keeping two bigger babies to become adults as well. I also feed him frozen shell on prawns but they shells are not that hard that I don't feel that it benefits him much as far as beak wear goes. The snails are in a 10g, and the crays are in a 30g. The pellets, meh they're good for him but again they wont help with the wear of his beak.

Yesterday after work I stopped by the local sea food vendor and picked up 3 mussels, tossed them in the freezer, pulled one out late last night to defrost in a cup of water. Hapi was excited when I lifted up his lid for feeding but once I dropped the mussel in he looked at it for about 10 seconds then looked at me with a "wtf" look on his face.... I left it in there for about 2 min and he showed zero interest in it so I pulled it out and put it back in the freezer. Today, I pulled it again, defrost it, and again he was excited to see me but same story one I dropped it into the tank... Looks at it but shows zero interest.

When you guys feed mussels do you crack them in half? or leave them whole? or is Hapi just being picky? should I let him go on a hunger strike till he eats it? I've never had a issue with new foods for him, normally he attacks everything that touches his water.

Alright, 3rd day of trying the mussel... Cracked it open this time and he still shows zero interest in it. I was going to pick up some clams but thought their shells might be to think/hard for him (they didn't have any small ones).

they dont eat the clam shell, toss the clams in there split open already for them. The scrap their teeth on the shell trying to get the meat out
