It sucks to be in your position and it happens to alot of people. Just use it as a learning experiance. This hobby has tons of ups and downs and the only way we learn is to make mistakes and do research. Its allways best to try and learn from others mistakes before you make them yourself, but trust me when I say if anyone in this hobby states that they have never made a mistake they are telling you a lie. Peope do it all of the time some more drastic and with greater conciquences then yours and some just simple but we all make them. The key is to learn and move on and just enjoy trying to make the best little homes we can. If you cant find a good tank on craigslist or from a local fish club then its a must to find another home for the little guys. Then start to research what you can actually fit in your tank and start over. Thats another thing I beleive many of us have done many times; rebuild a tank after a horrible crash in the system or some sort of wipeout from desease. Enjoy your hobby and im sure you'll find out what to do.

As much as some of us would want to do that with our little fish its just not a good idea lol.

all gods creatchers i thought a puffer would be a joy to own and right now its more heart brack then joy

is "All Gods Creatures" the name of the store where you got them?

What do your parents say about your fish? Will they let you take them back to the store? WIll they get you a bigger tank?

i got the puffer from there and i got the bushey nosed pacso from walmart and i got the cichlid froma friend

Call around and see if there is a good fish store that will give you credit for your three fish and maybe you can get a betta. Many of us have bettas and we can tell you that they have a lot of personality, are active and pretty fish. Maybe the store that sold your puffer will give you a refund if you return it. Especially if they told you it could live in a 5 or 10 gallon tank.

Well you never said that. Show them the link in PufferPedia about their care and show them this thread. We will explain that he needs the new larger tank now.

you have done a very good job getting information, and you've learned a lot
now that you have let us help you understand how unhealthy a life that your fishes will have in your 5 gallon tank, might you be able to talk to your parents and help them understand what a problem this is
and that none of your fish will survive without the space and water that they must have
perhaps you can show them this forum to help them understand
and then maybe they can work with you to solve the problem
if they have any questions or need suggestions, we would be glad to help them too
maybe then you can get something for your tank that you will enjoy, and it can be healthy for everybody!

i put my mom on the chat with some people on here to have them explain to her and she said dont worry about it well get a biger tank as he grows
