what kinda paint did you use? Anything special? I still wish i had remembered to do this to Bloats tank before i set it up

usually I use black chalkboard paint, but this time I just went with a straight outdoor flat black. This paint has more of a sheen to it. I should have spent the extra $2 per can and went with the chalkboard paint. It still looks good just 98.9% not 100%

A small update:
I ran out of "stick 'n seal" so I could only trim one side of the tank... I was hoping to get all 4 corners done today but will have to get more glue tomorrow.

More progress:
We hit the hardware store today because I knew I didn't have enough trim and enough clamps to complete the job. Well I bought their LAST clamp and their last 3 strips of trim. I have enough trip to finish the first tank but not enough clamps. I was hoping to get it done today.. but NO... I have to wait another day before I can shuffle the clamps around. Grrrr....
Anyway .. here are some photos..
ohh... the one with the shot from the painted back; you can see that it is missing the trim because I ran out of clamps :/

And kiddied here is your lesson for today ... read my sig line 
I was cutting the trim with an angle grinder / cut off tool and never checked the blade between cuts. At one point I noticed that it wasn't cutting and started shaking. I was almost finished the cut, but the saw decided to rip the trim away and fling it at me. It caught me in the leg and hurt like hell but at least I was wearing heavy work pants.
Lucky, no major injuries

Ive learned that same lesson long ago working on cars, glad you werent really injured. Thank is looking great(reminds me of my tank)

almost finished the stand for the tanks... so far so good.
First thing I noticed, the top tank is going to be above my wife's eye height. I talked to her about it last night and shortened the stand by 28cm. Even with this reduction the top tank is still a little high. The bottom tank / sump will have to rest on the floor. I don't like that idea but we don't have a choice at this time.
Today, I assembled the stand and cut the melamine. Almost perfect! The floor it is going on is not exactly level so I'm not going to worry about it too much. I'll just sand / plane the legs when it comes time.
Definitely better than my ugly cat house!

ok... the stand has been roughed in and is looking good.
Next, paint and trim and get more screws.. I ran out.

ok ... after 10 days off... not much progress.
Got the stand painted, got the tanks ready. Currently working on the sump, and the big bonus is: GOT EPDM pond liner!!!! YEA!!!!
Instead of laying foam under the tanks, I am going to use the pond liner for 2 reasons: 1) to add a buffer between the table and the tank, and 2) to make the table "water proof" in case of any spills that may occur. In theory it will work. I am worried that mold will develop because there is no air circulation, but I also may be over reacting (again).
