I looked up the sunpod i purchased elsewhere on this site, they want over $600 when i paid $200 on ebay... Just saying you might find the same light for a better price elsewhere.

These lights are enough to grow anything. And they still come with two timers. Just not integrated:)

Im not looking for very expensive lighting. Just enough to start some softies, then when i upgrade the lighting will be used for a planted tank. I will probably purchase a MH/T5 lighting fixture when i peice my cichlids out and get that tank set up for saltwater.

My 33 will eventually become a nice DP/irrubesco tank, heavily planted of course.

I think the minimal lighting for truly keeping softies has been beaten to death on this forum. Check other threads....

I actually just found a nice thread started by Jaxpuffer on lighting so i think im good on the lighting questions.

I did however torch those aptasias yesterday so now my tank is hopefully pest free.

I see your tank is 33g, is that 36"?? For the best bang for the $ and ease of buying a complete fixture I would get a 2x96watt PC if it is 36", you could try less light, but really the softies are going to brown out and you are just going to want more light to adequately keep corals.

Yah im wanting something that isnt very deep (front to back.) My tank is a flatback hex and for the 36" part its only about 8 inches deep and my skimmer takes some space back there aswell, so a 2 bulb pc would be great.

Thnx for the link thats the light ima go with. It should do really good for a planted tank when i upgrade and free up the 33.

Aquatraders are known for horrible customer service. They are located in the bay area near me, many people in the reef club refuse to spend one cent there. They are horribly rude if you dont speak chinese and the live stock is unhealthy. I read posts on reefcentral about them refusing to replace bulbs that are broken during shipping and not responding to emails or phone calls.

Odyssea fixtures are also know for the very cheap build and are not UL listed. There are a number of cases which people have posted where the metal halide ballast has caught fire.

Personally I would find a different vendor and brand, you get what you pay for.

You might find a good deal on a used one.

I have read many reveiws on Odysea brand products but most dont seam to have a problem with there products. I know one of my friends from another forum has the MH lights from Odysea and he loves it. I have however heard that Aquatraders is a real pain to deal with. I will either take my chances with Aquatraders or spend the extra 20 and get it from the Ebay seller. (unless however i run across a good deal on a used setup)
