The tank has been set up for years but only sw for a couple months. I know that there is food in there for them. But my live rock has no color to it and the reason i got the snails was to clean up the green carpet looking algea that was growing on the top of it but it only took them 3 days to demolish it lol. It just makes me feel bad lol.

Well a beeter light give u color plus algae. For now feed the sushi nori (dried seaweed sheets) or algae wafers. Both can be obtained from the LFS

Hermits & snails are scavengers & will eat anything.

Have you looked at Premium Aquatics or Liveaquaria's prices for LR?

Premium hooks it up too. They throw in a couple extra pounds to cover any weight of water.

Thanks, Im really happy with the way it looks and the LR I picked has tons of coraline on it :) Im thinking about picking up my first coral in the next 2 weeks, not sure which one I should get first. I'm thinking of either buying a zoa first but I really wanted a frog spawn in there, dunno. We have 2 LFS that sell really nice corals for a good price and one of them sells frog spawn for $34.99 for the smaller one thats about the size of a plum, and for the zoas its $14.99 for the size of a small walnut piece.

2x20watt 50/50 bulbs are not going to be enough light for frogspawn or really any LPS. Stick with softies.

Thats why no one should feel bad investing in good lights because your always gonna want the better looking corals. Its kinda like the heart of the whole system. sumps and filter stuff are veins. A bomb light is a good Idea so you kno your not limited with what corals you want to buy. runs less risk on your wallet too. Soo your corals live and grow. Thats kinda why I prefer the overkill method for all my tanks. MY 20gal snail breeder has an AC70 and my 40g FW tank has an AC110. Overkill with lights cant hurt, just dont leave em on 24-7

HAve a look on CL ppl sell lights there all the time. Also you should check the lights your LFS uses over all there coral/frag tanks. Try to match it or one up it
