i am fully aware that a mbu is a large fish and am fully aware that it will need a massive tank and have seen many reports of them living with other fish never wanted a brackish puffer or any other puffer except the mbu i ordered so hes goin back today and ill wait for my mbu to be delivered

i didnt know what type it was i ordered a mbu which doesnt have the same requirements as all the fish mentioned above if i ordered a brackish puffer and it was any of the above then there would be no problem

yes got him home and was a bit concerned that he still had a black belly even tho he was looking happy swimming and eating well which led me to think he may have been a sabahensis gutted he has to go back but want a mbu

Did they think this was a MBU? Doesnt seem like a very creditable business if they cant tell the two apart. But who knows maybe it was a shipping error.

And really they dont know what the requirements are anyways for this fish since it's close to full grown and still in FW. I wish you could have sold it to someone who will take care of it properly and then order another MBU. Or rehome it and look somewhere else for your MBU.

Can't believe that other fish shops are still selling ceylon as mbu just seen advert on aquarist classified under mbu told them its a ceylon like the one my local shop was selling as mbu

This def looks like a Ceylon to me what with the bands on his back and spots on his sides/belly. Unfortunatley this means you'll have to bpu him in a brakish to full marine tank

That puffer was a ceylon went back to los in 2010t just ordered a mbu from a shop on aquarist classified and they are labeling ceylon as mbu same as the one i ordered in 2010 asked them to send pic before i made journey to pick up and was a ceylon but he is still advertising for sale as mbu
