so how how can u cut down the electricity?
**I don't have a good answer for this. Between our two tanks and refugium we have 12 things plugged in. I don't notice it effects the electric bill that much. I am willing to spend the extra money to make sure the tanks are good.
the only things that i have going is the bio wheel (70 gal) filter in a 20 g
a heater for a 20 gal (where i think most of the elect is going)
and i single fluorescent that i keep on 7-8 hours a day..
** We keep 4 strip T5 lights that cycle from day to moon light, and a compact fluorescent in the refugium. In our other tank we have a blue actinic and another compact fluorescent light. I really don't notice a huge spike in electricity from the lights. I wouldn't skimp on lighting. You really notice great colors in your puffs with good lighting. Plus they like to roam the tank in the moonlight. It's great to watch.
if i get a bigger heater, would that cut down the electricity because it can do more in less time?
**No! Don't use to big of a heater. Heaters have been known to overheat and boil tanks. Be careful and don't skimp on the heater. Research reviews carefully. We use a shatter proof titanium heater.
** you don't want to skimp on flirtation either.Unfortunately this is an expensive hobby. If your willing to spend the money now you can save later by running a refugium under your tank. This will replace your bio filter and naturally filter your tank. You will still need a protein skimmer for the puffers though.

i need to stop the vibration from the bio wheel
the impeller seems to be the problem..
ive had the prblem b4 and replaced the impeller and it was better for like a week
any suggestions?
**Take it apart and clean it good. Sometimes they get gunked up with salt and stuff. You could try putting a sticky felt pad on the side of the filter that touches the glass.
also if there's anything i can do for the protein skimmers vibrations?
**The protein skimmer's vibrations can be quieted by putting a filter foam in between the glass and the pump.
