Okay thanks puffer punk. I always made sure i bubbled my water for a day before i turned on my filters because i was afraid that Prime would leave some traces of cholrine behind =p Dont want to lose any of my BBs

I guess i can save that hassle now lol

I know you're doing pretty good with your Mbu, but I've only just read this thread and I just wanted to say PLEASE don't use Waterlife Octozin!!! It does not work and there's a chance it may hurt your puffer. I used it before I knew any better and it didn't help at all, and I think my puffers just got worse during my use of it, and hence I lost a couple puffers as a result. Just a friendly warning for the future, in case you think you might need it. I've never used Sterazin, but I would be wary of it.

It is very fast. It stinks a bit, but it is good and fast and has a wide safety margin.

Puffer update:

The ich on my mbu has reduced significantly and he seems to be breathing better now but now hes behaving really strangely. He keeps swimming across the tank at full speed and bangs himself against the side of the glass..if not he will just bang against the bogwood or the airtone. Hes like a pinball in a pinball machine ramming into all the walls...

Whats wrong with him now....man this puffer is really hard to keep..

I been changing water (50%) on a daily basis to rid off the Ich parasites..

Water changes only get the free-swimming stage, and those only last a few hours. But partials are good.

Do you have good current and surface movement of the water? The fish may still be in O2 deficit. Add an airstone and see if it helps.

Hey guys, my mbu has totally recovered from Ich but basically its not swimming at all (Its been like that since i got it anw)..basically spends all day on the substrate and only moves when food is given. It doesnt seem to have energy to lift itself up, as if its really heavy or something.

My parameters are all zero, nitrate 5 and pH 7. Temp at 27C. Frankly i dunoe whats wrong with it. Poop looks fine too, sometimes its white though while sometimes its black.

Today i feed it a small lobster and he finished it clean. Just a few bits of shell were left. But when i came back at night, i noticed this huge lumps of red stuff lying on the substrate. Im not sure if he pooped it out or he puked it out. It seems like remains of the lobster. Should i be worried about this?

Sick..could it be from the plants which i added? i dont think it came from my puffer..
