Well he didn't want to eat which isn't hugely surprising but other than that he looks to be fine, carrying on with 50% water changes daily for now but over the weekend I'll move to every other day etc.

Thanks for all the help, soo glad I'm not going to lose him!

Just a quick update, he's eating again - his appetite isn't back to normal but he ate some of the prawn I gave him today and is still quite active :D

Well, I'm sad to report that Mitch passed on today  I'm not sure of cause of death, he's been completely fine - more active than ever. I changed the water as usual yesterday (70%, been doing that every week since the amonia spike), he was fine this morning and dead when I came back from work today :( The only other thing was I fed him snails on Saturday which is a slightly rare treat for him (probably once a month).

Anyhow I don't really care why he died, he's gone now. Thanks for all the help, I don't know if I'll be getting another puffer but I'm glad to have owned him for the year and a bit I've had the chance to.

Awwww..... I really am sorry for the loss of Mitch dhracer. I thought he was doing so much better, it's been a couple months since he wasn't doing so well, so I thought was going to be fine. So sorry for him to have passed. :(

Same here - he's been so happy these last months since he was ill, so I'm very puzzled.
