If it's computability issues you are worried about, try sticking him in a 3 way breeder. They go for about 8 dollars or so. He might be uncomfortable in there, but it's probably a lot better than being in a tank that's still cycling.

I put him in the 55 gallon in a breeder trap last night (I had one on hand). I used the drip method to acclimate him over a half hour. He did not look great in there. I am sad to report that he passed away sometime in the night. I think it may have been starvation, he did not eat for a week, or the stress of being in a small space.

I appreciate all the help that I have gotten from the forum. By the way, you guys have an awesome library packed full of useful info.

I feel sure it wasn't starvation, as most fish can cope with long periods without food. Stress? Who knows. You will probably never know for sure.

Sorry for your loss... Check out the Fishless Cycling article & try to continue to cycle that tank for your new GSP. I hope you'll get one!

I will eventually get a new GSP, but not for a while. I took the tank down as I am fairly busy with school right now and my LFS does not have any GSP's at the moment. When I re-setup the tank, it will be the 20g filtered with an aquaclear70. I have marine salt on hand, and I will pick up a hydrometer before I start it up.

It will be a while, but I'll post pictures of the new guy when I get him.

If you're going to wait, then you should go ahead and get a 30+g at that point. You'll have to get one later anyway, and moving fish is a pain in the butt.

Just be sure to fishless cycle the tank completly before you add the new fish--whenever you do.
