I would consider keeping another puffer - an mbu would be amazing but seeing as I fell into mbu ownership without knowing about their potential size, this time I would opt for something a little smaller. However finding a smaller puffer with the same amount of personallity will be difficult.
At the moment I wont be getting any more, because I had to shift barry into isolation quick, all the fish I couldn't keep with Barry normally had to go into the big tank which is now at full stocking capacity I reckon. I will also take this opportunity to reclaim some of my kitchen where the small tank was kept!
However should some space arise in the large tank I would consider two or three SAPS. but at the current stocking level I wont be getting any more fish in a hurry:
5 clown loaches 2-3"
2 bala sharks 7" & 5"(trying to get rid of them - I inherited them from people with tiny tanks! but the longer I keep them the more I am of the belief that they are possibly the most ill advisedly sold fish available!)
1 gibbiceps plec 9"
1 polypterus ornatipinnis 6"
1 polypterus senegalus 6"
3 moonlight gouramis 3"
the tank is 490 litre capacity so I'm sure you agree it probably wouldn't be a good idea even with both 1000l/h filters running (I put in the other one for Barry)
