he kinda seems like he's been chemically burrnt

Yeah He seems semi blind

He does reaacte to certain things.. He can see somethings maybe colors.. i dont know about detail.. he seems really weak . .. he was swimming around pretty good last night.. more life then we have seen as of latley.

He is less doppy
Still bumping into things
hes more active
hes inst eating
hes still weak
My gf fed him today .. he spit up some and ate some so thats good
Im not to sure what the deal is
I think he is poised a bit and its fading and hes is chemical burnt a bit..

Can u feed a puffer if he has trouble eating ?

This sounds alot like what happened to my little GSP. I thought he had ich and I bought a product called Life Gaurd by and it caused my little GSP (Thats his name, George Saint Pierre) to get even worse. The little guy was very very upset and stressed.

Before the meds he was active and moved around all the time and always came out to greet us (Me, my wife and daughter) but he stopped doing that and just sat in the back of the tank and put his head in the corner. He lost his shine, and he went black on me. He is just recently getting better but he still looks like a starving fish compared to my other little healthy guy, Judo. Judo is fat happy and is a voracious eater (He doesnt eat something he attacks it!) but GSP will nibble a bit an then go off. He only likes FD Krill now, but Im afraid they dont have the fat he needs to get bigger. He wont eat much clam belly, octopus, muscles, crabs bloodworms nothing. He just recently ate a tiny snail, but he used to eat them like they were going out of style!

Ugh, this has been an adventure for sure and I'm getting to my spending limit. I have bought dewormer, pima and melafix, I have bought extrenal parasite meds. The little guys is getting a bit better but I'm gonna be honest he still looks bad.

To top it off, he now has a small bit of what looks like a worm of tiny (cm or so) string attached to his side...

I'm feeling your pain guys, and I wish I could help more.

did GSP act like he was blind?
how long has he been acting like that for?

Okay so i tested Nitrates and they're at 0 so all the parameters are good, except I haven't tested for nitrAtes - still cant find a test kit for that

we got some melafix and gave him 1/2 dose of that.... and now hes swimmin around more

still not responding to food... but he is getting better and better !

No GSP wasnt blind, just went down hill and became very antisocial. I think it stressed him and lowered his immune system to a point where he was susceptible to parasites and fungus.

Hes doing more now, but hes still thinner than Kate Moss on the Adkins diet. Hes all mouth eyes and bones. I don't know how to get him better than continuing the medicine and feeding him, but all he eats is the not so nutritious krill. He wont eat the seafood meledy from my market, even soaked in garlic!

Anyway if I can help I sure will.

eating was never an issue, he was always all over his food before the stupid treatment !

Geuss I should have bought it online instead of at the store, stupid me.

Now little GSP is dead, my wife found him this morning stuck inside the filter intake , he was still alive but had his insides comming out so he was agoners.I feel like an idiot, because he was healthy before I stressed him out and allowed the other bad stuff to take over.

I hate that a cute fish had to die for me to learn a lesson, not to mention I had bonded with him...

He was a fighter to the end, he was always trying to hang onto life. I will always remember my little friend.

I read the ich articles in the library... but we don't have a quarantine tank... he's our only fish !

A species tank is a quarantine tank, for all intents and purposes.

Life Guard that GSP used, and Parasite Guard that I used are both made by Jungle...
is it possible we shouldn't be using jungle products ?
