My oscar 10 inch is in a 90G... (UK Gallon)

and i wouldn't want to go any smaller...

they're as personable as puffs and if you keep their diet and environment really good then they're colours stay fab...


I do watch for hole in the head as i'm neurotic but he's all smooth so far..

Oh, and i've never seen one bit of aggression in him, he lives with and completely ignores the female convicts, a fire eel and a map turtle ( i know, i know, but it's worked for a year with no problems.. the turtle has doubled in size... so i'm happy with it..) Turtle has UV light, heat lamp and a climbing out section, fish have the rest...

I don't realy know how long he is as i never see all of him... just an upside down head! He hangs out in a hollow rock formation thing..

he was about a foot when i got him.... and i'm convinced he only eats river shrimp! Never seen him eat anything else, so he possible only eats once a week.... but he's been in there several months now, so i'm guessing he's happy....

silly fish really, not a tank pleaser for me.

Mine is very sociable. He likes to compete with the other fish for food. My ex-tire track eel was one reclusive thing, though. I never saw that guy.

Problem fixed. The severum is almost back to 100% but is still in QT. The tank is still overstocked IMO.

Mine competes for river shrimp, goes crazy infact...

but other than that he just hangs about upside down....
