Monos grow to a foot too but I was refering to your saying you hoped your leoprinus wouldn't get as larger as your barbs.

Okay, sorry for the misunderstanding. My bad. And I don't think that three 1 foot fish will outgrow a 100G tank that's 5 feet long. But barbs get bigger than one foot...

I had to take my tinfoils back to my stockist (they've put them in their display tank) because they got so damn big my tank kept crashing!

It's funny when you know they'll get big but you just kind of assume they won't, or they'll take years to get there... mine were 9 inches after 1 year and showed no sign of stopping! SIck. You could almost see them growing!

Same with oscars... but now i have 75G for one oscar so he can go ahead and grow all he likes. )

my bf and i went to capitol aquarium in sacramento yesterday. we are walking down one of the aisles of freshwater fish and i see a tank with figure 8s so i just knelt down and watched them! i finally leave them and what do i see but gsps 2 tanks down! after watching them for a while then going look at the rest of the fish for sale, then going back to the gsps about 5 more times, i knew if i left without one, id kick myself. so i am now the proud owner of a gsp! luckily, he and my ceylon are getting along right now, not chasing each other or anything... i think since i had just put her in the 20g that afternoon, she was still unsure of her "territory". hes just a little smaller than my ceylon. so now ill have to get a 90ish gallon tank in a month XD im hoping i can get him to eat snails from my fingers like my ceylon does. im about to go feed them some bloodworms and take about a million pictures of my new puffer heh

i cant wait to go back to that store! i fell in love with the tank full of dps and another with bumblebee gobies! ill definately get some dps(they looked soo much better than petsmarts!hehe and more curious about whats outside the tank, i put my finger against the glass and about 3 minutes later, most of them are staring at it! it was sooo cute!) and bbgs from there for the 20g when i move the ceylon and gsp to a new tank.

(tired of editing my last post, sorry) also, i was so amazed at how laid back the figure 8s seemed! i had never seen any before last night. they didnt seem very interested in me at all compared to the gsps. ok and i read that some puffer owners put pingpong balls in their puffer tank for the puffer to play with, has anyone here tried it? or have you put something else in the tank to keep them occupied besides snails? i want to try the pinpong balls hehe then maybe tie a plastic ring to one so it would float in the water and teach the ceylon to swim through it for a snail XD that would be so cute! i cant wait until i can give them the big tank they need and start using instant ocean.

oh yeah and if anyone was interested in what my bf got for the 10g i had: he bought 6 emerald eye rasboras i think theyre called and two albino cories cause we loved them!
