Yes, to an extent, that's true. But I think that when you love someone, cultural norms don't really play a role anymore, or at least not so much.

ahhh but the concept of "love" is also culturally different ;) What you define as "love" is different form what a different culture would define it as. Culture defines what is acceptable and what is not, what is beautiful and what is not. cross those boarders and you'll find things are VERY different. Probably shockingly so.

Is Flutter's SO not from Canada/the Americas or Europe?

I have known many international couples, and I think that love is pretty universal. Why do you think that Shakespeare's romantic plays have been translated into dozens of languages? ;)

This topic extends well beyond tattoos. European influence is vast but not universal. They invented the corset. Not all cultures agree with that.

PM me if you want more details. I can assure you some cultures equate larger people with wealth and health. Skinny ppl = sickly and poor. That is just the way the world turns.

I actualy had a bearing on that once: Shakespere's 'Globe' theatre or rather how to preserve it.

Sort of to do with how reburial of old sites to preserve them may not work if you introduce Oxygen into the groundwater by changed drainage patterns. In some circumstances you produce sulphuric acid from the sulfates in the subsoil. Not good for wood.

We used x-ray analysis in a scanning electron microscope to see what was going on.

I've a paper on four hundred year old boots

Sorry, it was quite a serious peice of work :)

Buy a girl some choc's or roses or do some housework and you will find that romance is still alive. Take her to the theatre and that's just dynamite :D

OA goes way deeper than just a goal of being skinny. It's about finding out why you eat in unhealthy ways, finding out who you are, getting a power in your life you can turn to in times of stress so you don't eat over it, making an inventory of your life so you can recognize negative patterns, listing those patterns & asking that power you have developed a relationship with to change the negative ones & helping others with the same struggle. It's about learning to eat healthy & not living to eat.

Sure, I know that! I understand what you're saying about different standards of beauty. I'm not disagreeing at all. Example - I have a friend who has very wide hips. Arab and Hispanic men hit on her left and right. Caucasians rarely do. I was pointing out that love tends to negate *any* standards.

LilGreenPuffer wrote:Nope, this place takes walk-ins. Today and the other time I went, I just called ahead to make sure they had time. They have a lot of people on the staff.

Please do your research on the place (especially the person) you are getting to do your tattoo. All of my "first" tattoos have been covered up do to poor work and/or selection of tattoos. I have a couple of places I highly recommend if you are interested. (one in winchester the other in Lexington) PM me if you'd like their contact information. Good luck on your fist tattoo I hope everything goes well :)

I agree. I don't know any really good artists that take walk-ins. I've been trying to get an appt with my guy for months. Also, check their bathroom & see how clean it is. If it's dirty at all, leave.

I know people who have had their tattoos at this place, and I've seen loads of pictures, and it all looks good to me. I'm no expert, but nothing looked bad, and I'm getting a simple design. But if you know a really good place, yes, I'll check with you. PM on the way.

PP - No, she's not, not really. She's *very* picky. And when someone hits on her in a sleazy way, it's an immediate turnoff, so she's never interested in them. She's also from a conservative background and has always been forbidden to date someone of another race.

I dont want it to get infected so i have a 2 month window before summer camp starts.

Ill be getting a quote "I AM MY BROTHERS KEEPER" on the right side of my collar bone decent sized about the size of my hand. so its almost on my shoulder.
